Might want to give tazzy a shout, he lives up that way and i think there is a bit of local trail action. Failing that you are about 20miles away from some decent riding towards derby

Colleague lives in Stoke. I'll ask him when he comes back to the office. He's gone to watch 'something' on the tele downstairs.

As above, its a sh*thole of a place itself but within 20mins drive there is some great riding spots. If you don't want to be taking apart trouser presses all week take your bike.

Hey!!!!!!! I'm from Newcastle Under Lyme - one of the towns of Stoke! Yeah Stoke is a shithole but it does have other places and some great places to ride. Hanchurch is well know on here and I live close to a place called Apedale and there's some cracking riding round there. Nightlife in Newcastle is "loud" at times and so is Hanley and there's plenty of places to eat out too. Basically the same as most industrial/run down places I guess lol.

Hadge, N-u-L is NOT part of the 5 towns!! How very dare you 😀

Nialmb email me if you fancy some riding I'll take you for a tour of the interesting bits, or I'm sure the goldtech boys would take you out for a spin on their tuesday night rides from trentham

compared to bradford though choke on stench is the culture capital of ****in universe 😯

It's nearly part of them - and I HATE people thinking Stoke is also Newcastle! I'm a Newcastle boy and proud!
I would have offered show the local trails but have plans this weekend I'm afraid. Email me if your likely get out in the week ok.

I worked there for a few years, it's a sh*thole, some decent riding nearby, that's it. If you get really bored you can go to the big roundabout by richer sounds in Hanley and watch pigeons, throwing themselves in front of cars out of sheer despair.

If you have to spend the night, get sh*tfaced and pretend to be somewhere else.

Lol, no parts of ANY industrial or commercial area looks pretty and I've seen and visited many as part of my job. But truthfully and honestly there are some stunning areas round the Stoke area and as has been said here and on many other threads about local riding, there are some brilliant hidden away gems and also some well known areas.

Stoke is shit - however, if you finish early chuck the bike in the car and head towards Lee/Macc. The nights are light enough to get to the roaches/macc forest and get a quick loop in.

Other than that - hanchurch or apedale. I haven't riden either - I only go back to see the parents and don't take the bike

Although had an ace night out in Hanley the other week...................

it's about 30 minutes drive from stoke to cannock so you can always do follow the dogging monkey or whatever it's called.

Stoke has a very rich industrial heritage. If your into that stuff maybe a visit to the Gladstone Pottery Museum, Wedgwood tour, Potteries Museum. Decent night out in Hanley or Newcastle-under-Lyme. Some decent trails at Hanchurch and bits at Apedale too. Think the guys at Goldtech do an evening ride every Tuesday at Hanchurch starting at the Poachers.
Best oatcakes are Cairns' in Milton 😉

was out with the Goldtech boys last night, was bloody warm! You have Hanchurch which is good for a few hours, and Cannock 20 miles away. I'd bring the duck me bike.

I was there last year for a couple of days with work, I had a fantastic curry at a place near to the railway station ( less than 5 min walk)

sounds like theres some good riding to be had. Turns out I'm actually going to be at keele uni so not in the middle of stoke. I think the bike will definetly be going in the car and it looks like ill be finished by about 6 each day so should get some evening riding in.

Nice ride to Hanchurch from Keele, partly off road

Decent pub in Keele. It's not Stoke-like at all.
