would love to see your pictures as well, owning a bike is a very personal thing and what feels good for one person may not feel good for another and that is why the choice of bike is always so individual and interests me so much.
My old 1993 Marin Bearvalley SE. No suspension nonsense, no "Summer/Winter" tyres. You rode all year on what was on it.
AAAAAhhh, the good old days
Either a GT Zaskar that I had about 12 years ago (so many epic rides on that :-)).
Or the very pretty bike currently resting in my study, which is also the reason I'm nursing a broken collar bone and 3 broken ribs at the moment. Actually, that sounds like i'm blaming it on the bike, but in all honestly the bike exceeds my own skill level by a considerable margin!
But, definitely the build i'm happiest with, turned out exactly how I wanted it.
Phwoar...! that's a lovely bike Mr File 8)
chas roberts white spider, it's the bike I first raced/went more quickly than usual on that cemented my love of mountain biking. For that alone it was the best bike ever. My '91 dave lloyd in black and neon pink was also amazing I was gutted when I had to sell it as student to afford to feed myself ๐

This was the best bike i've owned, which gave me the most enjoyment - it was years ahead of anything else at the time too, in '94 before V-brakes - it had disc brakes, 4" suspension and was light to boot. I wouldn't, however, swap it for my current bikes as technology as improved the ride and feel.
