Son moving into his new flat, I'd like to get him a bean to cup coffee machine. He has his eyes on dads jura machine saying it's about time I had a new one. Although he's correct it isn't going to happen.
Looking to spend £250ish. Not adverse to ebay purchase.
Ta
I bought a Delonghi ESAM2600 from Curry's last weekend for £299. I've had a similar machine for several years that's been superb and initial impressions are that this one should be much the same.
Argos also usually have good deals on Delonghi's about the same price - that was where I got my other one from.
Without meaning to sound like an arse, and realising that this isn't answering your question really, asking this is a bit like asking "what full sus bike shall I buy for £250?".
You'll get a much better espresso with a secondhand Gaggia and reasonable burr grinder at that money. Ignore me if you favour convenience over flavour, that's not my call to make, and I don't mean to be rude.
Noah he's a student he's not going to faff about with that. I don't faff about like that all he needs is to push a button and get coffee.
Aeropress and hand-grinder. He can spend the remaining £200 on blaw and hookers.
hand-grinder
I've got one that lives in the van but my coffee habit is way to extreme for the hand grinder to be practical.
I'm buying it for him if there is any coke n hookers needing paid he can do that himself
hand grinder !! I'm not a student - but I got one of those, post student days, used it once and thought "life's too short" 🙂
Student times I managed to rise to filter coffee add-on on top of very large mug.
Another vote for the delonghi
I have a Magnifica 4200 I think and I really like it!
Can I suggest a Skoda Octavia? It's about as helpful as most of the other replies you've had.
This should definitely be in the first world problems thread.
delonghi +1 for that money
Larff ahht loud at gaggia classic.
I persevered for a few years with one and a decent grinder. Great if it's only you, and you like ****ing around.
Upgraded to an Esam 5500 and not looked back. Nicer than the gaggia, and doesn't need fixing every 2 months.
