Stephanie Dosen, A lily for the spectre at the moment, to be followed by possibly Blood Red Shoes Fire Like This, Cara Dillon Hill of Thieves, or Jackson Brown Late For The Sky. Not nessessarily in that order.
6 music, craig charles funk & soul show, just to get me in the mood for a session down the pub
Awesome! Apart from Jackson Browne I haven't heard of anybody else. That's music and individuality for you.
Now 6Music, that's a subject in it's own right. WTF are they thinking in closing it down?
As regards funk, have you heard 'Feats don't fail me now' by Little Feat? What an amazing piece of music that is!

Apart from the occasional creak from my 7 month old baby girl, the blissful silence of a house that's usually full of noise and activity - wife and 2 children have all retired to bed leaving me with a glass of white wine and a bag of cashews
That's very cool Simon! As are the Velvet Underground..

6 Music?....I doubt they'll close it down, my mate will be out of a job (6music producer) and very pissed off, although i think after the level of support and feedback they've received over the past few weeks the BBC will have a very hard task to justify any such closure of the station. Check out how much Radio 3 costs to produce vs listening figures and do the same for 6 music.......the decision to close the station does not make financial sense in the slightest.
Yeah..."feats don't fail me now".....utter class! wrapped up in a two step bum shuffle dancing mode.
Right.... off to the pub to try and educate the locals with my selection of chicago house tunes followed by a lock in after-party.
