Following on from spray painting planes at an RAF airbase, the Afghan data breach that saw the release of the personal details of Afghans who worked for the UK is pretty grim.

However it now appears that the breech included personal details of British special forces & spies!

This is surely beyond embarrassing & doesn't help to make us look great on the world stage.

What is just as amateurish, concerning and disrespectful is how it has been dealt with after the fact.

I’d be curious to know what the security classification was for the spreadsheet - by the sounds of it, it should have been at least  Secret and therefore could only be accessed on an air-gapped system. Sounds like there are a number of security breaches before we even get down to the actual contents. If emailed from an MoD server, then the contents of every email are scanned - unless of course, someone changed the security classification of the document?

Lewis Goodhall (the Newsagents) is covering this well as he was one of the injuncted journalists so was present in court through two years of hearings so the injunction has been lifted he can now report on the hearings
