Are these kind of thing any good? Been looking around for one and seen a lot of ads

If you know what you're doing I can recommend www.EvoRack.com for a dedicated VPS. Cheap as chips and usually no problems.

Edit: Of course as soon as I put that up, I notice their server is down. #Fail

I use Fasthosts for my email and web hosting. Choice of Windows or Linux servers and very easy to install things like Wordpress.

That said I think they are all much of a muchness (apart from 1and1 - they are crap).

Whether it is any good depends on what you expect from it.

First things first: Work out how much extra income you can make from a website. Spend LESS than this.

Rachel (who often wonders how she will ever be a successful web dev entrepreneur giving out advice like that ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

It's just a personal website but after reading tinribz' comment I may have to re-think...
