I've mentioned it before on this thread but I love a ProPilot. They just look 'right', and are way more versatile than their dimensions would suggest. 100m WR too, and the Oris strap and deployant is top notch.

The only thing my (10-day) ProPilot GMT doesn't do is keep very good time...

@kryton57

Thanks - received and replied.

@igm

Thanks for the pics - with Krytons help I found a good price (30% discount) on the bracelet version of yours, the only problem being I have long skinny arms (think Inspector Gadget) and the 45mm would be too much. I think

@RustyNissanPrairie

I actually bought the bracelet version and then got the nylon as I preferred it.
The nylon deployment is light but is a very stiff strap which works well for a big watch.

Another Citizen, which I picked up on ebay. My OCD dislikes that the seconds hand don't quite line up with the markers but otherwise I like the look.

All fine and dandy after four months. I put a good few scratches on my Explorer over two years (which hurt SOOOOO much) bit so far nothing ok my Propilot. I wish they did it with the in-house movement though, as the SW220 base doesn't feel very special.

Saw a work colleague wearing a bluesy (bimetal submariner with blue dial and bezel) last week. I hadn't previously known he liked watches nor had I ever seen one in the flesh before so I commented. Oooo it's a lovely blue. Not sure i could carry off the gold and steel (or afford it!) But the colour is smashing. He told me he also had a bimetal skydweller and would show me when he next had it in the office if I were also. I saw it today. I would never have thought I would care for a skydweller but wow its an attractive watch. It is very big and very bling, particularly with the gold dial this one has, and I'd probably look stupid and feel stupid wearing it, but my it is far more attractive than I imagined.

Another colleague is off to the ad for a bat girl tomorrow, having 'had the call'. How these guys get hold of these watches I hehe no clue, as I got nowhere when trying to get on the list. Harrumph!

A friend got on the list with a Rolex AD without having to make any initial purchase. He said it was a case of constant contact, soft people skills and effectively blowing smoke up the salesman’s arse for months, a few weeks back he was offered, and bought, a sea dweller and was offered another decent one, a yacht master iirc.

Propilot. I wish they did it with the in-house movement though, as the SW220 base doesn’t feel very special.

They're getting there; there was a limited edition (carbon) Propilot last year featuring the in-house 5-day movement (Calibre 400); I have to believe that they'll start offering it in 'regular' Propilots over the next couple of years

I convinced my wife that I really would like yet another watch for my birthday and she kindly bought me a Seiko 5 (SRPD55).

https://flic.kr/p/2ovLTBW

I love the orange dial, but I'm not keen on the gold hands or orange/yellow numbers on the bezel so at the same time I ordered a different bezel with a 12 hour ceramic bezel insert and some replacement hands (MM300).
I already had the tools to take it apart from when I changed the movement on my SKX007 but I did buy some hand pushers and I'm glad I did because (to cut a long story short) I had some issues with the second hand and it took a few attempts before it all worked properly.

I'm really happy with the result, it's a great summer/holiday watch. I ordered a new strap for it from BBMod in France. It's a silicon strap with a clasp. It comes with a buckle as standard but I paid extra for the clasp as it has a diver extension which is really useful on hot days.

Holiday wrist shot, with bezel set for home time difference 🙂

Hmm, I'm not sure what to say. Feels expensive, but is a Selitta auto, or Titanium, yet you can get the "look" for sub £300 for a Tissot PRX quartz.

Seems to target the more luxury end of the market during a cost of living downturn, I'm not sure how much demand there is for luxury watch wearers to want a Titanium PRX or whether CW has the brand cache to carry it off.

I think the CW fans will love it. The dials are a bit marmite

It's a no from me but that's just I don't like the styling. I'm happy to see cw doing lots of new watches and doing well.

Jody JOWM has just posted a a barely cryptic and pixelated message on Insta. We can expect a review on his Saturday YouTube post I suspect.

Edit: Unusually he launched it today:

I’m happy to see cw doing lots of new watches and doing well.

Likewise. I'm temptied to book and appointment in-branch to try a few of theses pieces on. Lunch in Slough any one?

that’s pretty much my thoughts as well. I like (some of) them but glad I bought my Powermatic PRX for £400 now!

Well something has caught my eye (again). A diver, with blue dial and bezel and an AlCu bronze case. But I've already got a watch meeting that description you say? Oh yes, yes, I have. Hmm. Would anyone be untested in a rado captain Cook bronze? Perhaps we can reach an agreement that favours us both. ;D

I saw, good price and lovely looking watch, should sell easily.

I should not have watched that video, I do really like that watch. Thankfully on this thread something else just as nice will be along in 10 minutes to divert my attention.

Shame to sell the Samurai, they are starting to appreciate, as is the Arnie re-issue. The general consensus seems to be that the “new” Arnie with the digi at the bottom is fugly, contains an unnecessary sensor, and is not an Arnie at all. This is pushing up the prices of the 2019 reissue.

Kryton, I do you best price, for you, for you my friend I do best price! Anyway... green is a fad colour, blue is always a good colour 😉

Being serious if you're considering one, my experience is good, it's thin and light, very light for a bronze watch which are normally heavy. Mine is accurate to about 1spd but it's not isochronous (is that the right term?) Ie its got positional variance. Not badly, about 10 or 15spd in most positions but leaving crown up over night brings it to 1spd. Otherwise the build seems smashing. Patina forms only slowly with any alcu bronze but is starting. If you've questions just ask.

@beanum - nice mod on the ‘5’, I’m ambivalent about the original bezel insert, is it lumed, or just antique coloured? I really do like the MM300 handset though, probably my favourite handset of all Seiko watches, with the possible exception of the sword handset on my SPORK - I really don’t like the arrowhead handsets that yours came with, and are on most Seiko watches. The orange face works well though.

Nice! 😎

After some recommendations for a watch made in 1970.

I've fairly small wrists, but I doubt that'll be an issue with older watches. Up to 42mm is OK, more than that a bit chunky.
Most worn watch is a CW C63 ( https://www.christopherward.com/watches/c63-sealander-gmt/C63-39AGM3-S00B1-HBO.html ), I've a few others that are sporty/divey/piloty/marine.

Nothing garish, nothing dressy. Any ideas? What should I be looking for?

Budget, up to £2K? Happy to pay less though.

God help me, I almost pressed the trigger on a Pagani Speedy last night. It’s free returns on Amazon so I was intrigued just to have it in hand, but luckily checked myself.

it’s thin and light, very light for a bronze watch which are normally heavy.

yeah, I found that out when I tried the green one on, it surprised me actually.

Omega seamaster? Maybe a Tudor Prince might be in budget

@beej Second the Omega as Kilo recommends. Perhaps a Rolex Oyster Date Precision? Pick a 1970's model in your budget...
Or perhaps a vintage Zenith?

Thanks all. The Tudor is nice, bit over budget though.

Lots of Seamaster types aren't there! Some appeal.

Not a Rolex person. The Zeniths are interesting but nothing grabs me.

Any other ideas?

I got the Trafford Centre inflicted on me today. Went into the Omega store to look at a 38mm Aqua Terra. No way I'm paying RRP for one, (£6k+!) but thought I might have a try on.

They didn't have the white one which is my preference,  and told me if they were to get one in for me, you've got to pay full price up front, with no refund! Bonkers.

@Kryton - If I was passing that jewellers I'd ask to see the Rado, just so I could sort that misaligned bezel out...:-)

@Kryton57 that's a decent discount on the green I think. You can currently get the brown for £1890 from Francis and gaye but I think the green isn't discounted often/ as much.
Ah my firend....for you, for you, very best price! 😉 I could do £1550. Tbf, if the green is the one then I'm guessing neither the the brown nor the blue will give you 'the fizz'. Although it sounds like the green isn't quite either.

you did well to get in! I went to go the the Omega store in San Francisco today only to have the door closed and locked in front of me, no walk in - appointment only. Who do they think they are, Rolex?

Anyone have any thoughts on the Ceramic Rado cook line? Seem to be on good deals here, especially if I ‘lose’ the box and wear it home…

The olive on rubber has just rocketed up my wish list. Also, the hyperchrome utc has a Longines Spirit GMT feel without the ***** employee of the week vibe.
