I think some of those watches are drop dead gorgeous. The nautilus and aquanaut are just stunning imv, but I'll never afford one unless I win the lottery! I find a lot of the others quite dated looking though.

Agree. I’d love a nautilus but like Neil there’s no way that’s happening shy of a euro millions win. That’s why I bought a PRX, in the style of, with its own designs, but not an outright copy.

Be interesting to see the rest of that CW to see what they’re bringing to the table for what will probably be around the £1500 price point I’d guess? The days of genuine ‘bargain’ CW seem to be gone.

What do you all think of Breitling?

I find many just too fussy, and difficult to read. The Superocean of w00dsters is nice, though, much more to my taste, but those new ones neilnevill’s posted links to just don’t appeal, that great big square on the hour hand is horribly out of proportion. My SPORK shows my tastes pretty clearly, I like a clear, uncluttered face, like Sinn, which the SPORK is clearly a copy, or ‘homage’ to, basically a pilot/diver crossover.

That photo of midlifecrashes’ Casio has reminded me that I’ve still got one of those MBUK Velcro straps upstairs! It hasn’t been worn in years, I think the Velcro part has worn a bit smooth now. It was originally on my TAG ‘NightDiver’, it was quieter than the steel bracelet which rattled horribly when I was out riding trails, plus it left black, sweaty marks on my wrist, from the dust it collected! 😝

I dunno, Sellita based Dive/GMT sapphire rated to 300m for £975, or 600m COSC titanium diver for £1350 or less? Because I own one, I can say you have to hold one to appreciate that CW's have a huge amount of work into them, despite their logo issues of the past.

I was considering. second CW, particularly this one with black & orange rubber in place of the SKK:

But am intrigued by the new launch.

Re: the anniversary Scurfa, I looked at the all-black PVD with orange hands last night, having not realised they were doing a 10th anniversary model, because despite leaving my email for updates I never heard back, and they were sold out! ☹️

I’m seriously considering a Yema NavyGraf as a birthday present to myself, specifically this one:

You’re probably right and they’ve only risen in line with inflation etc. I own 2 actually (used to be 5 but chopped out the quartz), one being the elite 1000 which I paid £1k for and agree it’s a great specced watch for the money, on reflection probably not that bad.

I actually meant to edit my post but got a work call - the price range I quoted is for comparison the sweet sport for Seiko with a misaligned bezel...

Got of pic of your Elite 1000? I like that watch.

In other news the Breitling AD called, the 42mm Green Heritage is waiting for me to try it on.... gulp.

I’ve got a lot of time (see what I did there?) for that Yema.

Ha! Hi-fives Blazin’-saddles! In-house movement as well, not sure if it’s actually issued to them, but it’s designed for the French navy, that model for the submarine service. The bezel is fully lumed as well. It’s just so clean and un-fussy, and I like the single splash of red on the second hand.
Looks like I’m going to struggle to get one, though. The Yema site keeps reverting to the American version whenever I select UK, and there’s a new one on Chrono 24 advertised for £604, but the dealer in Germany won’t ship to the U.K. Although, I am using a VPN, so it’s possible I’m showing up somewhere else; I’ll turn it off and try again.

Bugger, the VPN was off, so no luck there, then. ☹️

Converting the Euro price on Yema’s site takes it up to £751, which I’d rather not pay, if I can see it being sold at a £ price of 604.
Drat, I regularly see items in America that won’t ship outside of CONUS, but I’m surprised a European dealer won’t ship to the U.K.

Just pissy because we left the EU, I guess.

Found someone called Gnomon Watches who list the NavyGraf for £624, but they’re out of stock at the moment, so I’ve registered an interest, but I’ve had an idea - my late partners aunt lives in Brussels, so I’m thinking of getting in touch with her, and arranging to have it sent to her address, then she can either send it to me, or bring it with her when she comes over next.

I noticed Steinhart are charging 50 euro to send a watch to the UK now, ridiculous.

Uncle Seiko half link arrived for my Speedy. Baffles me as to why Omega never made a half link for the bracelet and only gave you two micro adjust points. It’s not perfect but £30 well spent

Nice, works well!

In other news, a friend sent me notice of an offer on one of these this morning. Together with the history I was led to a few pages ago, the looks and the fact it’s Ti I’m very impressed:

Good looking watch, and would be sub £1k, more than a third of a price of a Pelagos.

I bought this a couple of weeks back as a "bike" watch. Titanium, so nice and light on the wrist, water resistant and good lume. It looks much smaller on the wrist than the pics below suggest.

Citizen BN0116-51X btw.

I've worn my citizen Garrison every day since getting it. I've genuinely had to check it hasn't fallen off on a couple of occasions, it's so light and comfortable.

For anybody looking for true VFM - the Baltany Discoverer 39mm. The spec / price ratio is outrageously in your favoour:

Discoverer

Stainless steel case and bracelet
Super Luminova
Sapphire with AR coating
Seiko NH38 auto movement

£210

I have a Baltany and can vouch for the build quality and excellent lume.

Derek the baltany looks great. I get frustrated by the basic movement though. So many microbrands use cheap seiko or miyota. I'd love an explorer homage with a sellita or ETA.

If that Baltany had a date complication I'd be in like a greased snake!

Re Citizen EcoDrive Tough:

I've had mine since '99. It was sold to me as the 'perfect watch to go to war with' by a dealer in Gibraltar. It fitted that bill perfectly and hasn't once missed a beat!

I somehow lost the original kevlar strap that wasn't overly comfortable, but it sits nicely on a Barton strap.

I think the newer ones are slightly bigger, but it still gets regular wear when I do DJ gigs as it's so easy to read in the dark.

Great watch!!

Joining the Citizen love this morning:

Discovered it was flat so its not outside on the windowsill. I also discovered its the same size as that Certina up there which was handy, although I think the L-to-L on the Certina is bigger which could be an issue.

I'm on my way to CDG with an Oris Propilot on the wrist, and an Explorer 39 and Pelagos blue in my carry on. That should cover my air, land and sea. I'm heading to Greece but chose a stop in Munich, literally to have a perv at the Teutonic timepieces...

That Baltany looks really nice. I am not sure if it is the angle of the photo but it looks more like the proportions of the 36mm Rolex's which I prefer, sorry Geolog if that is a 39 it is a bit embarrassing just catching up now. Rolex 39's look too boxy to me but I own a 34mm one so it is maybe just a step too far.

Thanks Kryton - pretty pleased as I hadn't bothered to try one on before.

42mm this one - not small! But wears smaller than my Seiko samurai.

I don't think the Explorer 2 was ever made in a 36mm so my comments are safe, it was designed to be bigger. It is very nice

Very nice Exp2. My dad has the last gen 42mm. Massive! He wears it cycling and I fear for the ground if he falls off...

I’ve looked at the Citizen WR300 many times over the years, it’s the perfect field watch, light, not too big, and a very clear, easy to read  dial. Probably need one of those full cover flap things if being worn in a conflict zone with that lume!
Back during WW1, there was enough lume on some watches for snipers to pick up the faint light through a scope, modern lume like my SPORK has will light up the room on first charge!

Speaking of which, I’ve had a link removed from the bracelet, and now I’ve been able to move the micro-adjustment on the clasp open one hole. Bloody thing fits perfectly for the first time in forever. 😎

I haven’t really worn the watch for quite a few years, I banged it quite hard a couple of times on various bits of interior architecture and large industrial machinery, and had no desire to risk any significant damage, so that’s why I got the Heimdallr watches - cheap, reliable and tough. Since retiring, I’ve been wearing it all the time, and I’m appreciating it all the more, in fact I’m re-evaluating getting a NavyGraf; I’d still like one, but I’m not sure about it being an overwhelming enough need.
I might still get a Scurfa Diver One in black PVD with orange hands, it’s a pretty cheap watch, tough as old boots, and I like it’s aesthetic and, like the SPORK, immensely visible!

My dad has the last gen 42mm. Massive! He wears it cycling and I fear for the ground if he falls off…

Ha! Like the SPORK, with the bracelet on it’s a seriously heavy watch, if I were to turn round suddenly with my arm outstretched and I hit someone with it, I’d probably hospitalise them.

@gaidong

The Propilot is still at the top of my list - I posted quite a few pages back but I'm looking for a field/tool/non diver with large hands and Arabic numerals. I nearly bought one but I wear a watch 24/7 and my Seiko5 gets bashed a lot at work (heavy mechanical engineering/fitting) - I'm not sure how the 'turbine' bezel of the Propilot would fare.

How old is yours? and how is it wearing?

I have a black ProPilot GMT.
Six years old and still in excellent condition.
I have both the bracelet and the nylon deployment straps. Generally it stays on the nylon as it suits it better.
Photo in a bit

Love the Propilot.  Nearly bought a date only 41mm a few years back but went with the Tudor BB41.  Would still like one though. Maybe one day!

Loving the dial and movement detail in this new CW, not enough to pay £1750 though!
