Is this the question that stumped the forum...?

Any ideas where I can buy this in Edinburgh.. scouted around to no avail and its needed for a starter with parma ham, roasted walnuts, before the main course of venison Black Forest style this Saturday......

Any chefs or food buyers.... ?

Do you not have supermarkets in the ex city of culture? Waitrose, M&S, Tescos, Sainburys, Morrisons all normally stock it in Worthing.

Perhaps its seasonal ?

Tesco sell it, part of the finest range, unless its been ranged out by the produce manager for poor sales!

Sainsbury's usually stock it.

I'd think any mild salad leaf would work as a replacement. Rocket would be too strong.

Mixed salads often have it. You could pick out the Lamb's leaf and use the rest for something else.

Or just use iceberg.

rj, thanks for the tip on mixed salads... could use iceberg but its completely different. Really looking for the real deal...

We probably have the most northerly Waitrose, our Tesco is ordinary.... Sainsbury's not sure. Tried the farmers markets....

Its seasonal indeed, its now the season for it!

The hunt is on....

It is a fairly major ingredient in bags of mixed salad under the brand "florette" which they sell in morrisons, spa shops and coops round here.

we get it in local tesco. in a bag, near all the bagged salad stuff. 1st aisle on the left when you walk in. if you are ever near stroud, gloucestershire.
