Some slight damage from a tree falling on it while driving at 60mph or so down the A303 earlier today.

Scary stuff. It's something that happens to other people, isn't it? Not any more for me.
Branch the size of my forearm came through the screen and landed in my lap. Roof rails smashed. Boot nearly ripped away at the back.

All safe though. Shaken, but all OK.

Did it make a sound?

Yes. Yes it did. A big one.

Luckily we were right by the Wherwell junction and got off the road quickly.

Police were excellent, clearing up the tree. Recovery all done, car gone. Will be written off, I'm sure. Wanted to replace it sometime soon anyway!

Blimey Cap'n. 😯 What a horrible experience and glad that you're OK, do hope that there were no kiddywinks with you.

Yes the 303 is scary and thought I was going to be a gonner on there in December. Really shook me up.

Thanks. Little Miss Cfh was in a state of shock for a while, it was her side of the car that took the brunt of it. Soon got over it. The Boy was asleep! Just about raised an eyelid when I opened the door on him. 🙂

Crickey flashy, glad you are all ok.

I had a branch land about a metre in front of me on the bike today and was worried about Mrs THM driving in the car.

It's even windier now.

Not easy to drive when you're looking through this.

Thanks for the kind words, all, and also for the excellent punnage and piss taking!

sorry to hear about your crash.
lovely beautiful trees are pretty bloody nasty if you hit them hard enough.
I once tried to climb one in a car.

TDi. it would have been a lot worse if I hadn't used the brakes.
I actually need to thank the tree as hitting it stopped me going down an embankment.
