I've been taking 1000iu for the last 3 months and believe its helping.
Symptoms, though maybe more down to being in since march with central heating, dry itchy skin and rashes.
Rashes have diminished so maybe the VitD is doing what it's supposed to, but come summer I'll be spending time sunbathing, which is something ive never done.
Also taking 1000mg VitC daily.

Living in Scotland our natural colour is white tinged with blue.

I've been taken a quite high dose for a few years now, currently on 3000iu a day (neuro prescribed me a 20,000iu pill to take once a week but I got fed up of prescriptions given it's so cheap to just buy). My level last Jan was 93.9nmol/l (which is down from 134nmol/l a couple of years ago) and I don't think that I've ever noticed any negative side-effects from it (unsure I would though...).

I've just started taking 2000iu once per days, gonna try and stick to it until the spring and see if it helps me through the winter. I do seem to get quite bad SAD and don't know if it's related at all.

Looks like Vitamin D for preventing Covid19 is a bust.

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.03.27.21254452v2

No independent associations were seen for age, sex, other medical conditions, diet, or micronutrient supplement use..

https://covid.joinzoe.com/post/does-vitamin-d-protect-against-covid-19

We found that the supplement provided a small beneficial effect but only for women, which may be explained by other factors.

Started taking Vitamin D in September. Still suffered crushing existential dread all winter. Would I have been even worse without it?

Far be it for me to infer that the great god TJ may have been wrong, but I haven't taken it and haven't suffered crushing dread of any kind... so make of that what you will.

No but you might've been a bit more tired.
