I'm gonna sound o so sad for this one ... and some of the younger generation just simply wont have a clue ... and some my age may think " happy days "
In ye olden days before the playstation and xbox, when us young whipper snappers used to cycle about on raleigh burners, raleigh lizards, girven flex stems and rock shox forks were a thing of marvel and awe, etc etc we got our technological computer game fixes on such machines as Amiga's and Atari ST's.
Such machines in those days as well as good graphics ( [i]for the time[/i] ) had great ( [i]for the time[/i] ) sound & music, to the point that you knew a game by its tune alone and not necessarily the graphics of the game play.
Now the game which had the best tune of the era imho was one by the Bitmap Brothers called Speedball 2.

This had an intro tune which is apparently a computer version of an original tune called Brutal Deluxe by Nation 12.

Searching around, I just dont seem to be able to find the original tune ... I can find other things by Nation 12, but not Brutal Deluxe.
Does anyone know if it exists?
Lastly, I never knew that Xenon 2's theme came from the theme of Assault on Precinct 13 ... aint youtube interesting sometimes 😐
Xenon IIs music was by Bomb The Bass, who released a full album around that time.

nation 12 only did one album which finally emerged in 2005, i've got a feeling the music for speedball2 was done specifically for the game

i just found shadow of the beast 2 on youtube as well .... the sound effects on it ... pure class.
I liked the graphics of Gods, but never really the music. Chaos Engine was great , especially the intro music. Turrican too. The list goes on.
I just dont think you really get games with such great theme tunes these days.
disco stu, I wouldn't know regarding whether anything was actually released. the question arose in my mind as people had made comments on some of the speedball 2 theme uploads that the theme was based on an original tune by Nation 12 ( tune name of Brutal Deluxe ) and was transposed to the computer versions and the tune name carried over into the title of the game too. Other than comments on youtube, i've not seen any other info to support it.
then figured there would be other people like me remembering the old games on stw ... so asked here.
