you don't know Philips Park that well then
I`ve managed the "red" sections a few times. ๐
Hi solarpowered,
I'll be out this Sunday without fail been looking at Philips park but not been there so maybe you can show me round and I can show you my local practice run ๐
The only problem now is how the bloody hell do you pm people on this forum? โ
Call me a sceptic but I call shenanigans....

you put your e-mail in your profile with gaps or something to stop spam bots getting it
Correction I'm NOT out this Sunday just been reminded I'm busy will have to sort something out soon, at Winlatter on 30th but at present I've a full van this could change the night before though (it usually does ๐ )
This posted due to edit rule ๐
Mobile and email can be found via profile web site drop me a line evening of 30th I'll see if the one that usually drops out has dropped out again if you fancy winlatter other wise just let me know when your free ๐
SP - I'm a happily married resident of Pendlebury. I can show you a local 20 mile loop without any "worries" on that score. I go out Sunday lunch time. Takes about 2 hours. I'm sure people on here will vouch for my sanity and lack of convictions. ๐

True that - no convictions, just a very good lawyer. ๐
http://www.meetup.com/Manchester-Mountain-Bikers/ has got loads of female riders and do female only rides....There is about 230 active members and rides are most nights and every weekend. Give them a look.

uh?
tee hee! Is yeti that bad? (think i have pepper spray somewhere.....hmmm, may be that should be on the 'important things to take riding' list?)
Emmmz and sassy - nice to see the females out there, would love contact from anyone really who possible lives nearby.
Terrahawk - when you next out - just so you can laugh at my cycling 'in-expertise'? And how the bloody hell can you get previous peoples comments 'boxed' and then reply specifically to them? I'm not good at this am i?

Do what I have done but remove the number 1 after the word quote. There are quote tags in the reply box.
Solarpowered: if you can get to any of the Manchester Midweek Madness MTB races (see [url= http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/?series_id=283 ]HERE[/url] for details), have a chat with the co-organiser, Lisa. She goes out MTBing with some of the girls from her workplace quite regularly, sure there'd be room for one more!
She posts on here sometimes as elizag as well, I'll point her in the direction of this thread.

Put the text you want to quote between the

Better explanation? ๐
Does anyone feel sorry for my parents? I still havn't got this quote thingy! Press what? then what? then what? Maybe it's hypoglyceamia - this forum stuff is very addictive- by now i would have ususally fed the fish, the guinea pigs and myself with a decent meal- all have been neglected!!!! EEEEk!

Better explanation?lubbly jubbly mate! thanks for being soooo patient!
You can ride to Rivington from clifton without going on too much road. That's if you can be bothered.
Would love to know how to do that! Even if i rode, walked then rode back! Don't have one of them smart phone thingys - do they do old people maps somehwere. No printer at home but deffo at work.
If you want to step it up a gear from Philips Park Hall,Clifton Marina Etc etc...Head over to Bolton (Rivington)..theres a few more technical rides. San marinos, ice cream run, back of Kennels
Wonderful! Thank-you - have just been you-tubing ice cream run....rekon i cud do it just v slowly ๐ณ We all start somewhere eh? Thank-goodness for those patient people out there willing to give us newbies their patience!
Clifton to Rivington would be old railway over M60 to Radcliffe, Canal to Bolton then I'd go smithills dean, over to back of dog kennels.
Ice cream run still scares me - I prefer San Marino - think it's the noise on the Ice Cream run which makes you think you are carrying a Dinner Set as your wheels bounce on the rocks.
Theres load of good stuff in our part of the world.
If your one of these girls I might be tempted to come for a ride.
But for some reason I get the feeling you'll be some sort of singletrackworld hairy he-man tranny in a pink tutu and that I'll get roofied and then bum raped.
Trust your instinct matey! Aint one of them for sure......! ๐
(cos i'm just 'me'of course....)
Thanks for that bwaarp. I had to read it several times and every time it made me chuckle. Specially the "hairy he-man tranny in a pink tutu" bit. Very cruel, but also very amusing ๐
Trust your instinct matey!
The only girl I know who used "matey" was my ex, she turned into a butch rowing lesbian.
Do manc females use the word "matey". Are you a man in a pink tutu or a butch lesbian? I've had my lifetime supply of being sexually abused by the latter and obviously don't want to meet the former.
Not read all the thread - But my advice - Arrange to meet up with the Rivington / manchester posse. I did this when in the area and had a grand day out. They are a good bunch, a few women amongst them and despite their reputation I arrived back home safe and sound and well fed on cake.
One of the great joys of this forum for me is arranging to meet up with folk for riding - never been a crap day out when I have done this. People seem surprisingly normal in real life
No pink tutu here, or butch lesbian! Liking the 'attitude' though ๐
What's wrong with 'matey'?
Anyone want to meet up for an 'introductory' ride round manchester area sometime soon (ish).... ๐

I think Solarpowered the lonely female of Manchester is going to turn out to be a Sociopathic Man from London.
A few of us from South Manchester get out at the weekends: Ladybower, Hayfield, Llandegla, Lee/Cragg quarries being the usual jaunts.
Happy to meet up, definitely won't be at any kind of race pace, email address can be found here: http://singletrackworld.com/members/portlyone/profile/
rekon i cud do it just v slowly
Hora will show you the chicken run to the left on the grass
There are some nice folks on here ->
As i fellow newbie to site I would like to say hi.
I never posted in this thread till now but its getting really...."stalkerish"
bwaarp - Memberthe only girl I know who used "matey" was my ex, she turned into a butch rowing lesbian.
was that during your relationship?
how much did your relationship influence her decision to go that way?
๐
that's 5mins from me.... Reddish vale. ?uwe-r

I should be at least slightly insulted!..... (but) still cant stop laughing ๐

Lovely! Much more realistic sounding than Hora showing me the 'chicken run to left of the grass!?? Weird! Just weird. ๐ฏ

The hilarious/sad thing is, I dated her for about a year and kept managing to get her naked and burying my face in her huge tits, she'd get her rocks off and then she'd throw me out of her student flat with blue balls.
Every single time.
I'm still pissed about it. But luckily it's not so bad now I know she was in the closet....it's not that I'm totally inept with women.....just sometimes
she turned into a butch rowing lesbian.
Weird. Who was she arguing with?
Hora showing me the 'chicken run to left of the grass!??
Male chicken?
Think they mean the side of the Ice Cream Run where theres a bit of singletrack which keeps you off the rocks.
Just got back from Rivington and only met one other MTB - and only a handful of walkers - bliss for a change !!!
I will be willing to meet up but Im back at work till next week so wont be out riding.
Hora showing me the 'chicken run to left of the grass!?? Weird! Just weird.
as you go down the Ice cream run there is a grassy path on your left that you can ride down if you chicken out of doing the rocks. The one time I had the pleasure of Hora's company on that route he took the chicken run hence the comment. It was a dig at his riding prowess and there was no other meaning meant.
It was largely factual if badly expressed.
solarpowered, remember ignore what Yeti says!! that boy is permanently on the pull
play nicely boys... ๐
