...and getting caught will land you with a dangerous driving charge apparently. This is a good thing.

That is all.

Is that any different from the usual penalty?

Yip, usually 3 points and a £60 fixed penalty - charge of using a mobile while driving.

Mandatory 1 year (minimum) ban for a dangerous driving conviction.

Saw two drivers on mobiles on Wednesday when the first snow appeared - both in roads with alot of pedestrians and narrow streets and extremely slippy. And both were driving chelsea tractors - t*ats!

You're missing the point that if you're in a 4x4 you've got so much extra grip that it doesn't matter if you're a little distracted (and doubtless you do need to take the call telling you to pick up Tarquin from nursery because they're shutting early).

Have seen many people constantly on the phone whilst driving
in East London on the iced roads
They should be shot.
