Wife wants an i-phone but can't afford new one. Is it worth buying used, are they generally reliable and which one is the best?

3Gs is available free with contract. Expect to pay £150+ for a second-hand one, but you take your chances.

I've bought a few sh phones and it was fine, not iphones tho.

I sold my iphone4 to a friend for £300, it was 12mths old and fine
