Cut ride short at 80k as sunny first thing turned to rain and hail and gales in S.Wales. It's March and I'm thinking of getting some Japanther boots.
Nice sunny morning in Edinburgh after a nasty day yesterday. 75k on the roadie then a cuppa in the sun in the garden - lovely !
Lovely afternoon in South Lanarkshire for a 25 mile poodle around the back roads, dry tarmac, bright sunshine, no wind. Time for a glass of wine now 😀
Glorious sunshine in the East Midlands at 7am this morning.
Biblical downpour at 9 when I arrived at Hicks Lodge for this morning's volunteer session. So we decamped to the café to give it half an hour to ease off which it duly did.
Hedge laying was abandoned due to the weather, and we spent a muddy three hours finding and clearing drainage culverts to stop the access road flooding.
Spent the afternoon recovering at home.
Crap weather here today. Same as yesterday. Couldn't muster the willpower to get out on the bike. Now feeling miserable as I've wasted the entire weekend and it's back to a job I hate tomorrow morning.
Aren't I just a little ray of flipping sunshine!!
Failed to muster up the willpower to go riding in the wind and rain, feeling guilty, but it's the only non-cycling day I've had this past week.
At least there is the commute tomorrow, dry first thing going in, 50/50 at home time.
Chilling today. It's chuckinitdown. Did Rooley Moor Rd and Greenbooth res yesterday though, it was slippy, loads of fun and made me consider disc brakes. Nearly went arse over tit, v brakes full of mud and general slop, you know the flava.
I'm forgiving everyone in Scotland for having good weather - you get more than your fair share of the crap stuff.
Didn't really get any better here (Chestershire) but I played with big boat enginey things inside and made a cracking beef casserole, so not an entirely wasted day.
Man up and get out.
30 odd kids from our club did today, and had a great time.
The minute I put a foot outside it pisses down. The cleaning regime after rides is doing my head right in. Dampens my mojo a bit but doesn't stop me, have the trails to myself most of the time which is nice.
Riding back through the streets to my house people look at me like I've got some kind of mental deficiency (they are probably right), soaked and covered with semi liquid mud from head to toe that only a hose down can fix 😆
I usually have 2-3 weeks off biking around this time of year and always feel a lot better afterwards.
Nov/Dec is ok I can stick two months of crap weather
By January it's starting to wear a bit thin
Feb and it's becoming a real chore
March *groan*
Good luck everyone
