Anybody remember Sultans of Ping FC's "Where's Me Jumper?".
votchy - MemberStone Roses - Fools Gold
Is the correct answer.
'dancing in the disco,
bumper to bumper,
wait a minute,
where's me jumper?
you might say things can only get better,
you haven't lost your brand new sweater!'
can't remember the rest though...
what was shed seven's big hit?
It might be '89 and I might hate the song, but even I agree it's Fools Gold
Shed 7's big one was Going for Gold, wasn't it?
or maybe Getting Better

mansun - stripper vicar ๐
indeed algarvebairn, worst song ever recorded
I think this was 1989: I went to see the Wonderstuff at Glasgow Barrowlands and the support acts were Neds Atomic Dustbin, Jesus Jones and Mega City 4. That was some gig.
Shed 7's big one was Going for Gold, wasn't it?
No Going for Gold was the Henry Kelly presented TV program on after Richard and Judy which meant it was time to get up ๐
I think I saw that tour.
PWEI were regulars at Portsmouth Poly. I think I saw them 5 times!

Going to see the Wonderstuff week after next, they are playing a tiny venue in Putney, should be a cracking night.
Neds and The Wonder Stuff often played together. Saw them live a few times where they supported each other. PWEI, Neds and the Stuffies were all from Stourbridge IIRC.
The Breeders - Cannonball
Belly - Feed the tree.
Shed Seven - Speak Easy
The Wedding Present - Kennedy/ Brassneck
Edit - So many good tunes i'd forgotten about. Have almost all of these on vinyl with no turntable. I think itunes is going to get raided tonight!! ๐
Are we including Yanky indie type rock?
If so I'll get my best cock out and and say I saw Mudhoney twice when they had a lively little support act called Nirvana.
Mossimus, I saw them a couple of months back at the o2 in Glasgow. They played the eight legged groove machine start to finish and then went off, came back and played soem of the later stuff. It really was good. Funny to see all the thirty-something forner indie kids outisde the venue checking their blackberrys and iPhones when 20 years back they'd be smoking a spliff!
Rusty Spanner, Freak Scene is truly one of the greats. Can't beleive I forgot about it.
Scruff: I think I can beat that - I saw Nirvana at their only ever gig in Scotland at the Calton Studios in Edinburgh.
algarvebairn: They are doing Hup this time.
Is Malcolm Trecce still Playing with them or just Miles and a backing band?
scruff -
Lucky man. Saw Mudhoney at the International 2 in Manchester - you got Nirvana as a support act, we got some band called Hole, with a gobby female singer called Courtney Love.
Don't remember them being much good!
Charlatan's - North country boy
KLF - The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu
Cast - Finetime
Anything Stone Rose's and about 3000 other brilliant song's of this era
but the main one for me is the las - there she goes 8)
Ooo, classic STW Oasis haters. Argueably the biggest band of the last 18 or so years, its heyday in the 90's and no mention.
And Fools Gold is wrong. It was the song that prompted John Squire to quit the Roses because he didn't like the direction they were going in and so brought an end to one of the best bands ever. So for that reason, Fools Gold isn't 'the one'. On the flip side, he went on to form the shortlived Seahorses which were excellent.
So the correct answer may be She Bangs The Drums by the Roses but is probably something from Definitely Maybe, Cigarettes & Alchohol maybe?
