Apparently Russia may be getting close to defaulting on its debt. It has tried to hold bond auctions recently and raised about 10bn roubles, of the nearly 1tn it needed. The treasury then cancelled the remaining auctions due to lack of buyers.

Assuming it is the Rouble denominated debt, Russia can chose to default or print money to repay it. Neither is ideal.
