Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger just said the state had about 90,000 ballots to go by last night, but by this morning there were just around 25,000 ballots left to be counted.
Speaking to WSB-TV in Atlanta, Raffensperger said: “We should be done no later than noon-time today.” That's 17:00 GMT.
Fulton County, home of Atlanta, is expected to conclude counting in the next hour, he said.
Biden is behind by about 18,000 votes in Georgia, according to the latest estimates.
If Biden takes Georgia on first count, a recount is guaranteed given the miniscule margin.

I just watched a Georgia press conference on CNN where the official (not sure who) called out the remaining votes to be counted as ca 60K (61367), calling them by county.
Lots were in the urban Atlanta areas where Biden is getting >75% and possibly more once you count the increased % by post. Trump leads by 18K
The 30K surplus that Biden could get if the 60K remaining split 75:25 would give him a 12K win. But: not all were from the urban areas, then again it was >75% in those areas, add the favouring of postal votes and that's a fair margin of 12K to play with.
I reckon Biden will get Georgia on that BOTE calc.

Here is the thing about any potential Supreme Court challenge. Trump is a transactionalist. Everything is viewed as its own deal. He put 3 judges on the court therefore those 3 judges will side with him.

As I understand it all posts on the official POTUS account are saved for the National Archive.
But Trump doesn't use the official @POTUS account for his rants, he uses his personal @realDonaldTrump so who knows. I imagine they are historically significant enough that they should be saved, if only as a warning to future generations.

Amendments are made by know-nothing politicians. They should leave it to the know everything judges, who know exactly what the founding fathers meant, having a direct line through Jesus/a snake/their dead spaniel to their spirits.
as the press conference guy said, it would be nice to be fast but it's more important to be accurate. 12K is still a substantial margin of error even if recounted, and the impression given that they are counting properly enough that they won't have made a 12K error.

That's when they challenge the method, election rules etc. The 2000 Florida election wasn't won in court in the actual count, it was an argument about deadlines and procedures etc. They actually did not count all the votes cast in that election b/c the court ruled they couldn't b/c the procedures were wrong.

What is it with counting in America? Do they not learn how to do it in school?
Its a mix of things:
Some eg Nevada is simply down to the postal service. They counted everything they could yesterday and now are sitting around drinking coffee waiting for the next delivery.
Some seem to be rather complex procedures for checking off postal ballots.
Then there is also just the sheer amount of crap on some of those ballots. Think it was a Georgia one I saw on twitter. Had about 40 different things you had to vote for. Not sure whether they have to tick all of them off or if they are just doing presidential first but its going to be more of an arse to check than a sensible ballot.

Yeah American ballots are insane. You often get to vote for the Mayor, Police Chief, Fire Chief, local librarian, etc on the same sheet. Plus they sometimes throw in random mini-referendum questions too!

another 6K votes counted, went about 73% to Biden, so Trump's 18K is now closer to 14K
Georgia looking a dead cert, and Purdue is now below 50% in the senate vote so a runoff looks inevitable. Pennsylvania looks very good too as most outstanding votes are from Philadelphia which is 80% Biden. The only way Trumps not going to lose is through legal challenges. The longer they go on and more desperate they look the more his support will drain away. The republicans will abandon him, the media will dump him (looks like Murdoch already has), and he'll be left swinging in the wind alongside a bunch of qanon nutters and white supremacists. He's f****. I just hope Biden isn't tempted to do any deals to protect him from prosecution.

The form I saw was huge with all of the votes on the same piece of paper! You'd think they would have separate forms for each vote and separate boxes like we do, then they can count the presidential vote first and the others in order of importance.
But then that would be sensible.

I just watched the lawsuit of Nevada being announced. My god, the "Team Trump" guy on the podium could have been character from a certain 1940-45 regime, what an arsehole.
They came up with lost of unevidenced reasons for miscounted ballots, pushed a nervous looking old lady and a black guy onto the podium to reel off some stories of woe then ushered them off before they could be asked questions.

b) old lady's vote counted democrat before she got to the voting office
c) black guy's vote strongarmed.

Yeah but they usually have one box you can check for the party and they automatically count you as voting for all the candidates and cats associated with that party for every category.
