ElShalimo - there's mention of riding on here. I possibly cycled from just west of Alwinton at Linbriggs on a gravelly track westwards across the range.
Importantly, one thing I've noticed is that the military maps featured in the Twitter feeds show more detail than the usual OS Explorer. As an example, a small area of woodland was given a name where as on the Explorer it didn't.
And a Sheffield archaeologist has also been inspired, his mini tour covers Wincobank Hill. Click on his last tweet as someone's posted an aerial vid of the hill fort.
