Been travelling to Chepstow and back with the bike on trains for years. This weekend, someone said "Why don't you try the coach?"

Just had a look. National Express Coaches - at least an hour shorter journey time and 20 quid cheaper...

D'oh!!!

Good luck getting your bike on the coach unless it's boxed or bagged.

an hour shorter journey time? where are you commuting from and how long is the current journey?

I was going to say something about getting your bike onboard but train + bike travel seems to be pretty hit n miss nowadays too.

I've had less hastle on coaches than on the trains! Uaualy it goes in the back while allt he other luggage goes in the sides so it's in no danger.

Guess it'd be different if it were muddy and in a group of 20..

I believe MrW has a brompton so getting it on the coach shouldn't be much of an issue.
