I've recently got rid of my iPhone and replaced it with a non-apple one.
I bought quite a few apps in the couple of years I had the phone - is there a way that I can safely transfer (sell?) my account on to someone else? Seems a bit of a waste to just lose it...
This is the sacred sacrifice you must make for leaving the brotherhood.
lol. maybe so...

Did you? Can't remember you mentioning it.
It's linked to your bank account, so unless you're willing to subsidise someone else's app and music buying habit...
...no, didn't think so.
Anyway, while the apps themselves can't be used on a non-iOS device, there should be no reason why you can't drag music from iTunes onto your new phone. I assume you did have music on the iPhone? Even if you didn't, for whatever reason, if you rip everything as MP3 LAME format into iTunes then anything can play it. You're just stuffed as far as the apps are concerned.
