Thought it might be a bad nostalgiafest but this looks okay!
Danny Boyle directing of course... should be good.
Wonder how Begbie's gonna get over Mark nicking all his cash..
it does actually look pretty good. Also I heard via a family connection in the Scottish film & TV biz that it's up to scratch too. looking forward to it.
Not been this excited for a film release for ages. This looks cracking.
looking forward to this.
Will Granny Island from Katy Morag be in it?
Since getting the requisite big TV and internet streaming malarkey at home, a visit to the cinema is a rare thing indeed. It takes a lot to drag me out to put up with all the mobile phone/knees in the back of the seat/yapping/popcorn-crunching/drink slurping IRRITATION that seems standard to the event, but...
This is one of those rare temptations that just has to be experienced as soon as possible.
Looking good.
Begbie appears to be a bigger sociopath than ever.
That doesn't look too bad
Danny Boyle is one of those that you trust, he knows what he is dealing with and what is expected. Very excited, trying to remember if I was actually speaking in to the original or just 18
Looks good, I'm going to watch Trainspotting again this weekend.
Because of who's involved i'm confident that it'll be great but that trailer has too many scenes that mirror the original.

To get you in the mood
It looks like it isn't following the plot of the books?
can't wait for it...

That's probably the intention to pique interest of those that know it.
I cannot wait and for once am prepared to let myself get excited, I don't see this disappointing.
Saw them filming a couple of scenes round the corner from here. It'll be a great film.
Yasssss!

Watch all the deleted scenes on YouTube - I did on the 20th anniversary and it gave some interesting insights:

Trying to get all my mates together to go to the cinema in january again, 20 odd years after we did it for the first one...
It'll be like herding cats.

Looks awesome. Trainspotting was a revelation. A real shake-up of British Cinema. Still stands.
What's the song on the second half of the trailer?

Darude - Sandstorm. 😉
Actually it's this:
Great. Overlooked them. Thanks.
Any hints to scenes of shitting the bed again?
Gross.
Awwww! Yeah I 'member.
Just seen the trailer. I watched the 1st again in a cinema alone with a couple on a revamp run a year ago. I got over my uncomfortableness and settled in. Boy, the raw, fast pace. It was awesome. I'm watching the original tonight
I remember seeing it in London, with subtitles 😆
Porno is a class book, hopefully its not too far off the plot.
Just back from viewing. Rousing and thrilling. A great deal of work has gone into this and it shows. Brilliantly imaginative, modern and nostalgic at the same time.
Some absolute laugh out loud moments too.
A few minor downsides; slightly too much plot and confusing character motivations . You're never quite sure who's gunning for who.
Robert Carlyle comes out on top being a perfect version of Begbie 20 years on. He carried the film. The other characters do okay but are given a little too much to do.
Music and editing all superbly used as expected. Although I didn't quite get some of the choices. Relax?
Perhaps not as pure film as the first but its trying to tie lots up. A bit too much. A bit of trimming would've helped. And lose the odd sub plot. Minor concerns, but shows Danny Boyle was keen on covering our expectations.
Adored the ending.
Haven't felt so invigorated at the flicks in a while.
Not that I care but Empire need to reflect on that 3* review.
excellent.
Yeh I thought Empire's review seemed a bit harsh when almost every other mag/paper/site gave it 4 stars at least. I shall be viewing in the upcoming weeks.
I'm going to go and see it when I get the chance. I don't know if I can cope with any nasty stuff nowadays, though - hopefully random glassings will be few and far between. I know nothing about the storyline or premise, but I reckon we're going to find out a lot about why Begbie is the way he is and we might even end up feeling a bit sorry for him.
Begbie was one of the scariest characters I have seen in a film because we've all met or know people like him. Having a laugh with the lads one minute, but everyone a bit wary, then random violence the next.
It's not quite as gross or violent as Trainspotting. It does have its shocking moments though.
It's rated 18 for strong sex. Begbie is even more terrifying this time around.
Just back, enjoyed it. I'm the same age as the main characters, made me feel old.
All the trainspotting cast are on graham nortons show in 20mins
Just back from the cinema. Best film I've seen for years, seriously.

+1
A little too much Begbie IMHO, but still excellent.
i don't believe this to be possible!geoffj - MemberA little too much Begbie IMHO.
good to hear the gloing reviews, the real reviews are all over the shop.
Watched this earlier, very disappointed even with fairly low expectations. Having read and enjoyed porno i was interested to see what elements would remain in the film; it turns out almost none. Begbie was reduced to a pantomime character played for laughs losing his real menace of the original. Rents had no story arc, the same for sick boy. It felt like a load of half ideas that went nowhere. There were some moments to enjoy but not enough to justify this nostalgic rehash. For it to succed it must have stood on its own which it absolutely failed to do. It just felt like it had nothing to say. I deliberately avoided reviews so i could make up my own mind before seeing it. I'll be interested to see what the critics made of it. Eurgh a shame
I think it will make me all melancholy and cry, so I don't think I will be going to see it.
Watched it tonight - liked it. Was also looking forward to Rick Smiths (Underworld) scoring and Slow Slippy / Dark Train.
Not seen it yet but carlyle was saying, in an interview, that there's potential for a third, mainly begby film.

I don't agree with that. He was given a lot more to do and say this time with a family to deal with plus his own personal issues. I thought he was terrifying in this, but yeah funny too. His white socks and slip-ons. His expression at the night club when watching the dancers was priceless.
Went to see it last night and agree with davros. It was okay, kind of turned into a comedy. Don't get the other poster saying there were too many sub plots, there was barely a main plot.
There was a lot going off if you look at each character's situations. Think of how many things Spud got up to. Don't want to spoil it though.
Saw it last night, really enjoyed it.
Thought Robert Carlyle plays begbie to perfection, scary one moment and completely unsympathetic character, but also having one of the saddest moments in the film.
