As a 50+ year old, what do I call my 'other half' (hate that term)?
Girl friend more apropriate to 18-30 age group.
Lady friend sounds like it's from the Victorian era.
Significant other sounds contrived and pompus.
Special friend - nudge nudge, wink wink.
Partner more for a long standing relationship.
So what is it to be?
Biatch innit.
mrs
Have you asked her??
Lover?
Bit of fluff.
Her name?
Over 50? - 'Nurse'? 🙂
clunge?
Trevor?
It really depends on who you are talking to.
"please allow me to introduce the current Mrs Stickydick"
use of the word "current" instantly makes you sound like a playa, which can only be a good thing.
I still introduce my wife in this way, and we've been together on and off for 21 years.
Spermcatcher?
Your split arse?
boss?
I'll ask her if prefers clunge to spermcatcher.
Mate of married 3 times refers to his as 'the current Mrs Hennesey' - she tolerates it.

Friend of mine, married only once, introduces his mrs as 'my first wife'
Fun buddy?
Slampiece?
Your One True Girl?
When we had been seeing each other a few months (only at weekends due to work) MrsCat introduced me at one of her nurses parties as "her occasional shag", I quite like that.
Call her Wife.
What's wrong with calling her wife if both of you are happy together unless one of you have the intention to leave later on. You really do not need any sort of ceremony or contact to call her wife you know. Marriage contract is the "modern" day invention.
If you do not call her wife then you might as well refer her as F-buddy or house maid or servant for your pleasure.
The Boss
She who must be obeyed?
Girlfriend
Wench
Whats wrong with girlfriend?
age is only a state of mind.. and my mind is in a hell of a state!

So what is it to be?
1. Girlfriend - there is uncertainty and sounds unsure for both.
2. Lady friend - sounds like you prefer the same sex. i.e. male or homosexual.
3. SO - she is significant but not you.
4. Special friend - is she supplying you class A drugs?
5. Partner - who is the majority shareholder?
Be a man call her your wife vice versa.
🙄
Comptroller General? Only if you have a joint current account.
Try calling her your "friend". As in: "Hi, how are you? This is my friend Jane" People will get it immediately.
BTW, if anyone has been married twice, NEVER refer to your current as your "second wife" in her presence. NEVER. NOT. EVER.
Er indoors.
😆

You liked it because the other nurses got the hint that you were available most of the time?
Given your user name I'd suggest 'sticky pudding' 🙂
Pencil squeezer?
I'd go with girlfriend or partner.
Introduce her as your sister and then take every opportunity to pinch her bum and cast lewd remarks at her in front of everyone.
[hebden bridge] Why do you have to refer to her using your relationship; why not just call her by her name and let other people take any inferences they choose? [/hebden bridge]
Just girlfriend is fine. Lucky you BTW.
I'm surroundedbyhills' burd.
Works for us (but auto correct just made that 'burden'... Take from it what you will 😉 )
SpermBank...and she can refer to you as SpermDonor
They don't like being called lodger...
Just say friend. as above most people will figure it out.
Floozy
samuri FTW. Endless possibilities...
+1 girlfriend. Everybody who I know who has tried to elevate girlfriend to "partner" seems to have run out of confidence at the last minute and added a qualifier to make sure the audience understand it's a lady!
Wallet vampire! I have dated a few. Now I am very happy with my beautiful girlfreind and I introduce her to different people in different ways, also we are a little to old for BF and GF, in 46 she is 51. Depends on who and where.
I think Crikey has it. She has a name, give her the room to define herself. And it keeps everyone guessing which is always good (except us of course - we know, we do)
Irrespective of age, if we weren't living together, then GF. If living together, then it would be whatever the lady in question is comfortable with. I'd be be happy with someone who says, 'call me anything you want, just don't call me late to dinner'. 😀
