i honestly cannot believe people are sucked in by that absolutely appalling sheeite - just watched the first 5mins & recap of last nights show, have peoples expectations with entertainment sunk so low they'll actually drag themselves off the sofa & spend their hard earned cash on making that smug high trousered exploitation crap music pedalling merchant a little bit richer so they can come back year after year & sell them more MOR crap?!
Why didn't you post that the "what gets right on your goat?" thread ?
...... am assuming that you are appalled, angry, and outraged ?
Well I've had a reprieve tonight. The wife's got a poorly lady to go and look after all night, and the daughter thought I wouldn't carry out my threats of sending her to bed early if she was naughty. She was wrong ๐
BillyBob I couldn't told you not to watch the recap and 5 mins as it would make you insanely angry at the shi*** so many people watch on TV. Am I THE only woman who thinks it's is utter crap!
Hey I wanted a "boy" movie tonight (The Iron Man, robert Downey Jr) and it was cool.. just coped with the OD of "boy" stuff.
I've never seen X Factor
i cant believe Rachael has been knocked out ? what dont the public see in her.... oh and bless little Daniel.... he couldnt hardly sing tonite as he had lost his voice !
Still, it's good for SC and the TV companies. Knowing that Lloyd was in the bottom 2 will ensure that all the teenies pay for extra votes next week.
as much as everyone knocks it i think its actually quite good, a good talent show on tv to help progress those who havent had a lucky break but deserve to get something with their talent. Sometimes it lets entertainers on (jon and ed who wont last long), but generally the others on the show have good voices.
It also shows how good they are when other 'mega' stars come on but IMO they were rubbish compared to the contestants ( whitney was rubbish, and drugged up??, britney mimed, michael buble wasn't that great, robbie (great entertainer, average singer), etc etc).
Some also tend to do well out of it, que Leona, Alexandra, JLS current number 1, Will young etc.
Alot of people will grow up with these stars just like alot of others grew up with floyd, queen, meatloaf, beatles etc and still like them claiming there original, the best etc. When you were young that was your thing so those that are young now let this be there thing without all the miserable comments of ' its not like it was in the olden days', or ' this isn't music' etc. I'm sure when you were singing your heart out to bonie tyler or guns n roses your folks were telling you to turn that crap off and put on some sinatra or rod stewart if you want real music.
Rant over !!
I don't like the "laugh at the saddo's who think they can sing" bit at the beginning as it is little more than a revisiting of the freaks tent at a Victorian circus.
The singing talent is good later on but the manipulation of the public through the "journey" the talent takes to becoming a star has been over done. I think Peter Kay's "Britain's Got the Pop Factor and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice" was spot on in its satire of the show.
As for the singers it's revisiting the Stock,Atkin and Waterman hits factory of the 80's and 90's, not my tatse but there's no harm in it.
