A Popbitch contributor said that, when given some DVDs to view for work, he returned the jewel cases and asked for them to be taken off his bill.

I mean, that is funny, but if his recent health issues have been mental health ones, then maybe it's not so funny.

I liked his first DVD - I think it was the Blackpool ballroom one. I must have mentioned it because someone got me his autobiography for Christmas, and he came across as a proper ****. First (possibly only) time I have read an auto/biography and disliked the person more than I did before.

I do find it odd that he can go from complete recluse to constant touring for the next two years.🤷‍♂️

a oft-repeated one is that he demands a cut of the venues’ parking revenues
that is going to be some payday (not that it wasn't anyway with all those shows!) since he's doing a month of shows @ the O2 and that's what, £35 to park now for an event?!

Sincerely hope he changes his material for those folk booking for 2025!
Unlikely. Given it’s never really changed.

Yep - I didn't find him funny over a decade ago, and the same jokes haven't got any better with age. The only thing I find less funny than his jokes are the million ardent fans reciting his jokes, but with even less comedic timing and intonation...

(And yes, I'll get my coat)

Saw Henning recently, Rich S. I wouldn’t get too excited if I were you.

I've never found him even remotely funny when I've seen him on tv

Quite liked what I'd seen on the telly, saw him at the Fringe in August 2021 and was very hit and miss. Badly misjudged his audience with some of the anti Covid/Lockdown gags. Basil Brush was much better the next day.

Only arena stand up I've seen was Michael McIntyre, who was better than I expected, but I prefer theatre sized shows rather than arenas

I think he had been waiting 12 years for interest rates to go up.
Takes Millions for advanced tickets, cancels and trousers the interest! 🤣🤦‍♂️
That’s a joke BTW. I gave up on getting tickets.

Saw him last month, much the same - I like the guy, but a set based on covid and lockdown pretty much guarantees that only half the audience will be laughing at any one time.

Is he still touring that show? He said that the Fringe shows (2021) were the first time he'd tried the material, as he usually tries it and refines it in small venues first. The Covid stuff didn't go down well to an audience who had to produce a negative test result to get in the venue.

Yeah, was not well received... Some jokes pro-lockdown/vax, some anti-, so the audience completely divided depending on which half he was taking the piss out of. I think he's gonna find this a looooong tour... 🙂

Saw him at one of those pre-Edinburgh small venue gigs in 2019. Absolutely terrible. Awkward silences from the audience and borederline racist to the point that I could have happily walked out if I wasn't in the middle of a row in such a small venue it wouldn't have been discrete. I really hope that show had a lot of editing before it got to the fringe.

Live from the top of the tower. My wife's in that, she's sat in the audience near PK's mum so she's often caught on camera.

He was pretty good in that Danny Baker sitcom.

Shame that never got a second series (because of Kay stopping working I believe).

i mean he's likeable enough. i loved Phoenix Nights etc but his standup is meh... if he was on in my local, and tickets were free or included a pie supper, id probably pop along. but not if it was raining.
