Sorry, but that fails in both pizza & pie definition. It looks like a pile of puff pastry with jam tarts on the outside. Shame, as the meat in the middle has real potential.

A 'pizza pie' is a Calzone, which I only discovered a couple of years ago, to my shame.

I try to pretend they don't exist, as otherwise I would be 18st.

you are now making me think that having the best pizza shop in the world only an interweb order away and my chunkiness may not be unrelated! ๐Ÿ˜†

I guess I'll find out, I move house the morra! But since I'm packing, 1 last pizza won't go a miss tonight!

I always feel that the Calzone, the Cornish pasty of the pizza world, has less topping than the flat version... perhaps that's just topping paranoia.

So you don't want to know about pizzaiolo either

Delicacy specific to eastern side of sicily, the pizza base is baked plain, sliced in half and the filling put inside, back in the oven for 30secs to finish.

Its a pizza butty, and one popular filling is nutella

Mmmmmmm

A pizza pie is most certainly not a calzone!

This is a pizza pie.

My now sadly ex-local Italian in Pimlico did a calzone that would have made Desperate Dan give up. Just marvellous.

Perhaps I should have said pie pizza instead, eh?

Meh.

Peebles' own "deep fried pizza-bab" shits all over this thread.

Calzone is not right, the toppings just end up being boiled inside there. yuck

Meat pies. In a pizza crust.

In what universe is pizza crust such a tiresome annoyance that it has to be stuffed with little nuggets of mechanically-reclaimed meat?

This shitlordery is in Cantonese, but you can get a sense of just how much these people actually dislike pizza from their decision to have what appears to be a Kerry Katona-style Iceland mixed seafood economy finger buffet disguised as pizza, in a "restaurant" with the word "pizza" in its name.

I've still not seen anything on this thread that resembles a pizza

No surprises if fruit appears soon...
