I recently bought an Easton Haven carbon bar at £39.99 and a set of Bahco round ended Allen keys at £8.99 which were recommended by other STWers on this forum. Both excellent.

What have you bought following recommendations by fellow STWers?

on-one inbred and conti vert pro’s
both poor recommendations based on misguided fanboyism and the glib acceptance of mediocrity.

Set of flow snowboard bindings. I'd always avoided them because of poor reviews but that turns out to have been a big mistake- they're great

A pair of knock off chinese sunglasses, some dodgy replica team kit, a bike made from gas pipes, a bike with the gears missing, a bike with stupid clown tyres and some low rent supermarket branded bike gear - all crap

That mould remover stuff. Worked well as long as you can leave the room unused for a while to let it de-gas.

Alpkit Ailok Extra dry bags - good.

Endura Humvees (a few years ago now) - awful.

Basit light, followed by Solastorm - great.

hmmmm - surprisingly little actually, although my build kit for my new bike will take some views on here into account.

-

Avoided lots of things because people said avoid - cheap brake pads being one example.

Innis & Gunn beers probably the main one.

Very little stuff on here that I can afford or need.

Already had a Soul before I joined, was ahead of the curve with the Arkrose. Was in to Greggs steak bakes long before Binners.

I probably ought to buy one of the recommended skills courses though!

That Howies windproof jacket that Wiggle were doing cheap recently.
Not used it yet but it fits well, looks good and that's all that really matters.

Those 'damaged' On One/Planet X jerseys that they were selling for mega cheap and had no damage on them that I could see.

Garmin Edge 500 that was reduced to £155 in Halfords with the HRM & cadence sensor.

LED bits for Lumi halogen conversion a couple of years ago.

SLX brakes and they were gash. Other recommendations from here have been ok though generally. The BFe was alright but not as good as the forum led me to believe.

A fair bit of Finisterre clothing and a Ruark R4i Stereo.
The stereo in particular is awesome both in looks and sound.
Thank you STW.

PSA rather than recommendation, Charge Spoon with a shoe bag and some grips. Grips were shite, saddle is good.

Spesh Stumpy FSR Evo Expert - at 40% discount as previous year's model. Obviously I read some reviews as well - but the forum pointed me in the right direction

Solar storm light, good but crap battery.
Cheap Casio G shock, good but really didn't need it.
Cheap Oakley Flakjackets, good but again, didn't really need them.
Conti GP4000s tyres, average at best, as all Conti tyres are in just experience.
