Discovering a little Asian cafe around the corner from where I’ve been working that does the best chicken tikka kebabs I’ve ever tasted

Well? WELL?

Where is it then?!?

Linky please?

After nearly three years I still get a warm glow having got out of the civil service (especially not being a party to propping up the Trump war machine!), and the cherry on top is now working in a bike shop, less pay but much less BS.

Finding interesting or useful items left in cars that have been dropped off - got a rather neat tyre inflating pump today, sometimes there’s money that’s been accumulating behind seats, sometimes stashed away.
Taking a car across to Cribbs Causeway in Bristol for a windscreen replacement and recalibration; that’s an hour each way, plus two or more hours sitting in Maccy D’s waiting for the job to be done, that’s nearly five hours out of my day not being in work. Next one’s Wednesday! 😁

ahaha i lived in Castle Greyskull Irwell once upon a time, about 50 yards from Spices of Kashmir. Housemate got mugged when he went to the offy next door. Halcyon days.

work pluses:

seeing cool wildlife on the commute - especially otters or kingfishers, but cormorants will do
attractive members of the opposite sex
having drum lessons on my lunch break in the summer
The various prolific bakers who insist on bringing their cakes into the office so they don't eat them all to themselves
Those random days when hardly anyone seems to be in and I can just get my headphones on and listen to an entire album without being bothered

Contractor here - so none of this office cake bonding stuff going on.

Happily though, what I most get a kick out of is making someone's life a bit easier and / or helping them understand a tricky point about a subject or themselves.

Bumped into a guy in London last week who I helped get qualified (we had a bet on about it - my winnings were 20p). Gave a management workshop a few weeks back and a business owner had what can only be described as an epiphany that he was, in fact, a "bit" controlling.

All useful in their world. I go home with a happy inner glow.
