Have posted a couple of three pics up over the past few days. But have done before. How do I rectify it ? is flickr better ?

We regret to inform you that your Fotopic account has been suspended due
to the violation of our site policy below:

Contrary to section 12b of our Terms and Conditions, your account
is consuming excessive bandwidth to the extent of degrading the
service for other users.

This may be because you have linked to an extremely popular external
site through our direct-linking facility, or you may have featured
in a magazine or a website elsewhere.

Depending on your subscription level, you are permitted 500MB per
day as a Free user, 1500MB per day as a Plus user, and 7500MB per
day as a Premium user. If you require dedicated bandwidth you should
discuss this matter with our sales team at sales@fotopic.net if you wish
to continue to use Fotopic to host your gallery service.

If you wish to continue using Fotopic, you will need to correct this issue
then email us at suspensions@fotopic.net to reinstate your account. If
your account is not reinstated within 30 days, it will be removed from our
system and any images stored with us *will* be deleted.

If you are unsure of why you are suspended, or need further
information, please contact help@fotopic.net and our support staff will
be happy to help you resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

samwe happened to me ...just email them saying you want to keep your account and that you will be a good boy from now on....worked for me. It really isnt a big deal.

You could upload lower quality photo's, for you to exceed 500mb in bandwidth I'm assuming the file sizes must be quite large...much larger than needed for an online photo album unless you intend on ordering prints through their shop. Or someone else has linked to one of your pics.

I used to post loads of pictures on here with a free fotopic account, but back then I uploaded images 1024*768 which makes them less than a meg each. I pay a subscription now, so I upload full size images.

There is a good powertoy for Windows called 'image resizer', you can resize a whole folder of pics (as duplicates so keeping the originals) in a couple of mouse clicks before uploading them ๐Ÿ™‚

my pics go at about 150-200 kb! it was the best pic of 2008 thread that blew it.
