When you visit, you should always bring a cat treat, and after a while the cat will associate your visiting with the treat.
My mums cat hates my sister, but loves me, simply because i always have a treat in my bag, and the cat even can be found with nose in the bag looking for it.
I use the treat sticks, chicken/chicken liver, only costs a quid for about a dozen.

Sage advice, but "my cat hates you" is nothing more than a running gag. My cat doesn't know PP well enough to hate him yet.

As an aside: Mollie is my girlfriend's cat really. The first time I visited their home she warned me, "the cat is really skittish and aloof, she won't come anywhere near you". Inside of five minutes she was rubbing up against my knee purring away whilst I stroked her.* "Well, she's never done that before."
