Looks, in fairness, half decent, but then I could be comparing it to the last outing which was, er, less than great.

The last one seemed to be 'ok' until about half way through and then it just went weird and the final half hour was just terrible.

I'm hoping this is decent all the way through, just so it is all rounded off and done. I do like the Indiana Jones films, although the 4th is way down the list by quite some distance!

...and annoyingly, now I've watched the trailer, I can't wait for it to be released!

Looks alright. I actually quite liked Crystal Skull, it was better than ToD IMO! People say it was "weird" with the aliens but if you think about it they make a hell of a lot more sense than the religous-magic-gobbledegook of the 1st & 3rd outings 😂

For such a cool & valuable IP I'm amazed they haven't done more with it over the years! Some of the computer games have been pretty good (Fate of Atlantis was great!) Maybe we'll see another TV show now as Ford bows out, as that is all the rage these days!

ToD makes more sense when watched in the right order.

Directed by James Mangold - who has directed some pretty great films about old people - Logan, Copland

ToD makes no sense, regardless of the order. The fact that Señor Spielbergo shacked up with Kate Capshaw during filming is the only logical reason for her being cast.

I skip it every time.

Soz, for clarity: I'm not a fan of ToD. I really like the first half of Crystal Skull, and don't mind the second half.

Looking forward to the new one, to be honest.

Thought that looked good, but Dial Of Destiny? WTF came up with that as a name! 🤦

A scene was filmed round the corner from me here in Scottish Borders.

13 secs in, that is Leaderfoot Bridge just off the A68 in between Melrose and Earlston. Although they have used CGI to remove Newstead and replace it with mountains.

A huge crew and logistical exercise to film one scene, then digitally alter nearly the entire background. Makes you wonder why they don't just do the whole thing on a green screen.

some pretty great films about old people

🙂 That's quite the niche. Logan was excellent though, lets hope he gives Indy a good death.

Indiana Jones and the Commode of Chaos.

Hans Zimmer is already working on the soundtrack.

I saw some of it a few weeks ago. It starts in a pretty decent fashion, but definitely goes downhill quickly, and it's not because of crystal skulls, it's because it becomes stupid. I think I lost interest and turned over when they were pulling Indy out of the quicksand with a boa constrictor.

I'll allow it, as clearly I didn't make the joke obvious enough!

Logan is a classic. I'll check out Cop Land based on that. Thanks.

Cop Land is brilliant, I reckon it's due a rewatch 🙂

Tax breaks. Filming that scene probably made a significant profit.

Logan is a classic.

Just didn't do anything for me...

Crystal Skull likewise was just a bit disappointing, didn't seem to have the normal spark of the other films.

Maybe because Alethiometer had already been taken? 🤔

Me too! I was almost cheering just watching it, can't wait!

A year or so ago sat the family down to watch Raiders - I had not watched it for a long long time - wow, what a movie! It's relentless!

ToD I found terrifying as a kid (ripping the heart out thing still freaks me out), but mostly good fun. Re-watched it recently and apart from some great set pieces it really is mince. Sean Connery one was excellent!

just don’t think too hard about the backstory between Indy & Marion 😬

That trailer is absolutely ridiculous...! Love it. I'm onboard. The cast might just carry it off.

There's a further story problem... 😉

My claim to fame is that I appeared in TLC. I wonder if they'll call me up to reprise my role.

@franksinatra - I live fairly close too and have been waiting to see leaderfoot in the film, I agree it looks nothing like it (not just the background but even the bridge seems a bit weird, is it the colouring of it? )

@crazylegs - seen this on big bang but I think the answer is he saves Marion from the nazis/French dood (classic 80's story line)

The street scene in that trailer was filmed outside our works Glasgow office. Quite a big effort needed seemingly.
