Imagine the utter mess we would be in if balls and sillyband got their way and chose to spend money the country didn't have to get out of the recession.

It may have worked better than this lot, or it may not. A lot of people seem to think it would have worked. Impossible to tell unless we could run the experiment in a parallel universe.

Luckily France have been running an experiment for us - they have carried on spending, made minimal reductions to public sector budgets and imposed significant increases to tax on the wealthy.

Although their experiment is still running the results are pretty striking:

UK / France
Unemployment 6.6% / 10.4%
Unemployment trend: down / no change
youth unemployment: 18.5% / 23.4%
economy: growing / at risk of 3rd recession in 6 years

are you seriously suggesting that the French and British economies are comparable?

anyone who's spent more than a few minutes in France will have noticed that they have a fundamentally different attitude to work than the British.

i.e. they don't much.

i'm not suggesting that the French are simply lazy, but they do like a national holiday, and looong lunchbreaks, and not working afternoons, or evenings, or mornings...

Have we ever had a good economy ?

If we have please educate me, what year/years and how was it classed as good ?

Then can someone please explain why the clever people allowed the silly people to ruin the good economy !

Cheers

Cheeky B
