Great Britain is the main geographical and not political land mass and NI isn't included in that

They do, but they also include other things like power and influence and clearly China will beat Ireland on that one every time. You can break down how they got to their results, so you'll probably find Ireland do come above China on the things that you mention.

I couldn't be bothered to trawl through the criteria but the answer is wrong. No 1 is Norway. Even Swedes think it's cool.

Don't let your negativity get in the way of the facts, top table at the UN and in the top 10 most visited countries. A bit rainy yes, but London where most people visit and live isn't that rainy, with on average less days of rain than Miami, Rio, New York and Sydney to name a few.

Hmm. English the world's lingua franca, huge historical influence, third biggest in EU, 9th biggest world economy, UN permanent security council member. Don't call that minor. Finland is minor.

It's not that small. 3rd biggest in Western Europe (5th if you include Turkey and Russia). Sweden 10m, Finland 5m

It's not. Most foreigners love how cosmopolitan it really is. There's just a vocal minority of miserable gits, which is a lot smaller than most countries.

Hmm - again, lots of countries are difficult to get into, I don't think the UK is an exception. Of course it's full of foreigners, so it can't be that hard.

Yes, but it's not extremely not, not extremely cold, and the rain is what makes it green and fertile, which had big benefits historically. Did you know in lots of countries cycling is a summer only activity, because it's so icy and cold in the winter?

It's an alright place to spend your years.
New Zealand is better though.

I think it's quit telling how much lower our per head GDP is than the other top countries, even lower than France which is supposedly in economic termol.

+1 to what molgrips said (apart from the rain bit which really is shit). Most people who moan about this country (the UK) have no idea how good we gave it.

I usually hate these lists but it looks like some effort has gone in to making it balanced. If you dig deeper each category has sub categories.
If you could weight it category according to what's important get to you to get new overall scores that would be useful.

It's all a bit of fun though really.

I imagine for much of its history living in Norway really sucked ass. Cold, wet, cold, limited decent arable land, cold, often dark, and cold. I mean I quite like cold, from the inside a down jacket and snow boots. Not soaked to the skin stinking of fish. And cold.

How much do you like fish. And being wet, and cold.

Pretty sorted at the moment admittedly, can't wait to get back tbh.
