I'm not sure whether I'm metrosexual, retrosexual, or all mouth and no trousers
I'm pretty sure you're a ****
KOL, Ed Sheerin, a best of and 2 movie soundtracks. North Norfolk Digital beckons, my friend

that list is awful
This plus (as usual) what CFH said. TBH I have no idea who this guy is anyway. No Rolling Stones, no U2, no Pink Floyd, Eagles, Genesis, Queen, nothing from punk ear (Jam, Clash, Stranglers etc) surely every bloke has to own Bat out of Hell
FWIW I have 3, Oasis, St Peppers (agreed with above, not the best Beatles album by some margin), Pulp Fiction (compilations are lazy option).
I have 3 it's neither the best or the worst list I have seen. I wouldn't say sergeant pepper is even one of the best Beatles albums. I would put Heroes and Villains in my top ten though! 😉
surely every bloke has to own Bat out of Hell
That's it. I'm not coming back to this thread. Meatloaf?!? 😆

No. Absolutely, categorically and unambiguously: No.
The Telegraph 'Men' supplement because the rest of the telegraph is just too feminine
what a load of tosh
No NWA?
What a crock.
not a single one.
Meatloaf? I won't do that.
Okay, I've given it some thought and, as was intended when they published the article, here's my "ten albums every bloke (?) should own" list. I've invented a new rule for myself where they have to be "proper" albums, no soundtracks, compilations or Greatest Hits. Flame away....
1) Beach Boys: Pet Sounds
2) Rolling Stones: Let It Bleed
3) Led Zeppelin: IV
4) Nirvana: In Utero
5) Massive Attack: Blue Lines
6) Rage Against the Machine: Rage Against the Machine
7) Public Enemy: It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
'8) U2: Achtung Baby
9) Jane's Addiction: Ritual de los Habitual
10) The Stone Roses: The Stone Roses
I'm also, slightly inspired by your man Berry's choices, trying to come up with the list of best soundtrack albums, so far I've got:
Pulp Fiction
Singles (crap film, great soundtrack album)
Judgement Night (crap film, great soundtrack album)
SFW (see a pattern emerging?)
Woodstock
Tommy
5/10 I think.
what a load of cock though...
A bit (qu)easy listening.
Nothing particularly interesting or challenging.
Cpt Beefheart? No
Hendrix? No
Metallica? No
Rolling Stones even? No
Dylan, Cream, Syd Barrat, Jethro Tull? No
How about (they used to be interesting but not these days) Red Hot Chilli Peppers? No
Music for teenagers I'd say
Edit: now Edlong's list is closer to the mark (apart from Achtung Baby - Live Under A Blood Red Sky please)
Edlong, do you think adding the Ironman 2 soundtrack to your list would raise or lower my standing with DezB?
Okay, here's mine...
1. Alice in Chains: Dirt
2. Nick Cave: Let Love In
3. Richard & Linda Thompson: I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight
4. Metallica: Master Of Puppets
5. Tom Waits: Closing Time
6. Bunny Wailer: Blackheart Man
7. BB King: Live At The Regal
8. ZZ Top: Tres Hombres
9. Julee Cruise: Floating Into The Night
10. Dr John - Remedies/Dr John's Gumbo
Actually given I have just under 500 CDs and about the same again of MP3 derived music, I think 10 albums is somewhat limited. I probably listen to more than 10 distinct genres. And I reckon I have a small music collection (though my wife doesn't)
Camo - is your smiley wearing cheap sunglasses? Nice touch (I'll assume it was deliberate)
Camo - they've gone. Did you edit that? Put them back.
I've got two and Im surprised I had that many.
If thats what makes a man, you can call me Doris the Tealady from now on.

Dammit - I've just come back to the thread and it's too late now. 🙁
I so wish that 8) was deliberate.
Over my 10-year career I've worked on MTV, 4Music, and hosted the V, Homelands, iTunes and Isle of Wight music festivals. I've hosted radio shows on XFM and Capital FM, and like to think I have learnt a thing or two about music.
And your views are no more valid than anyone elses.
I HATE music snobs.

I've got 2, neither of which I particulary like anymore.
Dave Berry has got one of those smug faces you wouldn't mind punching a couple times, hard! Douch!
I'm also, slightly inspired by your man Berry's choices, trying to come up with the list of best soundtrack albums, so far I've got:
The best soundtrack album is for The Big Lebowski, I'm amazed you weren't aware of this, I'm pretty sure a memo went round.
Cpt Beefheart? No
Hmm well I'm a big fan but accept Trout Mask, isn't going to be everyone's cup of, er, milk. Maybe it should be in most important albums - Zappa's Freak Out too.
The only thing we can agree is that DJ's list is very odd.
Pet Sounds and Revolver are clear top candidates.
Best soundtrack?
This is Spinal Tap
"Recorded in Dobly"

Missed the memo, just checked out the tracklisting, you appear to be very, very right.
