Considering taking the kids to the Lowry, is there much for young ones to do, what's parking like etc?

Don't expect the kids to "get" Lowry paintings.
I loved it but always love galleries

They normally have stuff for the kids to do on the top floor, mezzanine level of the galleries. You've got the Imperial War Museum across the bridge which is interesting, if you've not been

There's loads of parking, which is free if you buy owt in the Lowry. And you've a few child friendly places to eat there too

Cheers both, up there for the track cycling and Lowry is one of their school topics this term.

If its a school topic then its well worth a visit. As well as the stuff everyone knows, there are his later works. Seascapes and things which aren't as recognisable

Isn't there some kind of playground built into the promenade around there too?

Wot he said, MOSI is much much better for the kids/dads.
If you really must go then park over at the war museum (it'll cost a couple of quid to park but it goes to the museum), quick scoot around there, over the new bridge via the BBC to the Lowry and back across the old bridge. THEN get yourself to the MOSI ๐Ÿ™‚

I find the lowry outlet centre weirdly depressing for some reason, hopefully will never have to go again.
IWM North is pretty good, The Manchester museum on Oxford road is also worth a visit.

MOSI and the one with the planes in are worth a visit. Lowry is pretty crap for kids really. You could always let them join the Ordsall kids jumping off the massive red bridge in to the canal.

Or pay for them to go 'Open Water Swimming' with the triathletes ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for all the recommendations, we had a great weekend up there visiting The Lowry, Imperial War North and MOSI and topped-off with Revolution last night.
