Oh that's good. I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and was looking forward to it, but I've read a couple of duff reviews - it's nice to see reviews can be wrong.

Wallop

I went with some folk that were a bit 'meh' about Wes Anderson, after Moonrise Kingdom. They thought it was excellent.

Saw it last night; excellent, whimsical stuff. Ralph Fiennes was superb; almost channeling David Niven, and all the usual cameos from Wes Anderson's usual crew, but the real star was the hotel set. Avoid this film if you dislike purple.
Sadly, Mrs Lex found it a little too twee & as sickly as a Mendl patisserie, so kipped through half of it.

I really enjoyed it, nice that Hollywood still produces these quirky comedies

Big Wes Anderson fan and I thought this delivered on every level. Fiennes was at his brilliant best

IMO it was OK, the quirkiness alone wasn't enough for me.
