How can he be a good cook if he doesn't have a scooter, or a potty mouth, or big knockers, or a soft spoken tramp in the garden. Surely some sort of gimmick or party trick is needed to be a TV cook.

Yeah, quite a novelty that nothing is "sweated down", "fried off" or "whacked in". I like it.
