Emu

You joke, but I really do have an Emu at the end of my garden.
Custard is his name. His pal Rhubarb is in another paddock.
They are not mine though ๐Ÿ™

Ive been enjoying watching chaffinches this morning.

I've not seen them yet today, but I know my lunchtime walk will yield swans with cygnets, a plethora of ducks and at least one heron. Maybe some great tits if I'm lucky.

Out of the camper window this morning

Chaffinch
Blackbird
Loads of ducks and ducklings
Heron

Some French guy with an otter on a long lead. Hes fishing with it.
Its fun to watch as it fetches a fish back for him and goes in for another. The guys with rods dont stand a chance.

Oooh - just got a Nuthatch on the feeder and the Peregrine is back on the church (pigeons, magpies and blackbirds now seem to be keeping a low profile). Definitely beats the normal office views.

Where have all the cheeky Sparrows gone? I blame Brexit.

Edit: "an otter on a lead" ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I have a huge cherry tree, the fruit of which has just become ripe enough for birds. This morning it was full of the usual jackdaws, magpies, jays and blackbirds, but also so a few bullfinches and song thrush.

On the feeders:
Goldfinch
Robin
Blue/great/coal tits

Under the feeders:
Woodpigeon
Collared Dove
Pheasant

And had a flyby from a sparrowhawk.

I've not had a visit for a while, but around Jan/Feb I was treated to a Little Egret fishing in the brook.

No need for envy, Perchy. Peacocks are shit. Noisy, aggressive shits. Pheasants with a marketing budget, but still shit.

I still want one. THe estate seems empty without one.

The par terre is bereft of character. I feel lost in the maze. The folly is no longer jolly.

Pheasants with a marketing budget

Made me laugh!

Not there today but yesterday yielded blackbirds, magpies, long-tailed tits, robin (adult, not baby), blue tits, great tits, sparrows, collared doves and a wood pigeon so fat he has a job to take off.
