12 hour round trip later and I’m the knackered but proud owner of a Merc (ok, posh Kangoo).

Really nice to drive - took the 250 + miles of M6 and A roads in its stride. Feels like it could do with a 6th gear but I’ll get used to that.

Just got to figure out the best way of loading a couple of bikes in and the wee one’s car seat and we’re good to go.

Aye, that’s looking about the way I think.

At the risk of using you as my personal Google here… Have you found anywhere sensible to stick your phone (mine doubles as my SatNav)?

Tbh I need to get something sorted too, it tends to live in the wee drinks holder area, the rear of the two.

You've spurred me on to actually get one sorted!. Need to wire the reversing cam into the fuse box too while I'm at it.

I ended up buying one of the Honda Jazz’s I’d found on another site. 2013 1.4 with 44,000 miles on the clock.

Good choice.

Hopefully it’ll last me 10 years and be the last car I buy with an engine!

Will easily last for 20 years. EV will only not be dominant with their first mover advantage because it is not what the market wants but forced by the government and minority.

I prefer hydrogen fuel cell.
