there was some ice on my car this moring, i scraped it off....woo!
sadly it's thawing again today, but there's a chance the higher ground will stay frozen...

I know this might appear daft but why does that footpath need cones and a Police Accident sign? I can't see anything obstructing the path... apart from 2 ****ing cones and a sign!
Or is it becuase Jesus regularly walks by that way walking on water?
or, contrariwise, why isn't the entire canal always coned off as a drowning/driving hazard ? Might they not have a case for saying "It wasn't coned off so we assumed it would be safe" ?

Like ok driving on a canal is very very stupid, but if I did suddenly think oh what a cool idea lets drive on a frozen canal I wouldn't use a huge heavy family car!

according to a bloke from British Waterways, the ice was up to 10" deep, the car had been on the ice for about a mile, and was on the way to Edinburgh from near Linlithgow via the canal as the roads were covered in crashed cars! - nice pics btw.
