Not a dig at the other thread.
Normally I have either porridge or fruit and yoghurt for breakfast. When I get to the shop I have a bit of toast, then a biscuit and probably another biscuit then maybe a small pack of crisps as I'm starving. Then I have lunch.
Friday we have a cleaner at home so I have breakfast at the shop to avoid making a mess.
A fried egg and bacon sandwich keeps me nicely full til lunch and I'm only having some soup now out of habit.
What miracles are contained within this superfood?

A bacon butty is truly a wonderful thing and irrespective of its theoretical dietary nasties, the net benefit of the sheer enjoyment of eating one shouldn't be underestimated. You've got to feed your soul too.

With all that fuel on board, i'd be rushing home to bang the cleaner. I'm assuming she looks like Salma Hayek.

^^^nice.

one thing i really miss in Germany is the lack of proper bacon. io can get bacon of sorts... thin, streaky, more-fat-than meat american stuff, which, as we all know, is crap.

If we're at home at the WE I always have a Tesco Bacon & Egg sandwich for lunch. Both our cats love Bacon and won't take no for an answer, so I mainly have an egg sandwich and the cats have bacon...

@Alpin
When i lived there we found a butcher who had the equivalent of a back bacon joint who happily sliced it thin for us... voilà bacon.
Not entirely the same, but better than the crap you can buy in shops.

Just had my Friday lunchtime treat: homemade egg mcmuffin.

Breakfast muffin, lightly toasted, with a big slab of cheddar and a poached egg in it. Lovely!

No problem freezing bacon. When I lived out in Germany I used to buy big lumps of Schwarzwalderschinken and carve slices off and fry them. A pretty good bacon substitute TBF.

my problem with Schwarwalderschincken (or preferably Süd Tiroler Speck) is that i tend to eat it all in one go (especially if i've been drinking red wine).

there is a great book called "Eat bacon and don't jog". I bought it for the missus and it is really informative in a simple n direct way. If you want more details, "The Big Fat Surprise" is awesome.

My wife's aunt has lived in Israel since the late 50s. She goes back with a suitcase of bacon when she comes over 😆

A bacon butty made with bread fried in chicken fat is God's own work!

I agree. This porridge bollocks is bollocks. Nowt beats a good egg and bacon buttie.
Calories, shamlories. They're nonsense,

Everyone told me I should eat porridge for breakfast after riding in. So I did, felt tired, so I added loads of dried fruit, felt tired. Went back to egg and bacon, felt great.

Bacon and egg sandwich is amazing.
I was going to say I couldn't live without real bacon (I always missing when I go aboard)
But after speeding a long weekend in Munich a few years ago, I would happily live there without it
