B for me, I don't really care about A+A or friday Kylie, I just don't want a certain attention whore to get his own way by bleating and moaning.

I think that the fact that there is this thread about the other thread proves that TJ has at least got people debating the issues, which can only be a good thing surely? If just a few people have a bit of a think about things, then that has to be a Good Thing in my book, so hats off toTJ, basically. Good on him. It seems to me that virtually every argument revolves around 2 or 3 'players', with other forumites reduced to the role of a (mainly) irritated supporting cast. One of them has been conspicuous by his absence over the past couple of weeks and in my view the forum has been all the better for it.

My suggestion to the mods would be to give those constantly involved in arguments (it's obvious who they are by the sheer volume of posts) a sabbatical of a couple of weeks to see how things pan out.

It's by no means a perfect solution but might give others the opportunity to have discussions/banter/chat/info exchange/laugh without the constant intervention of the 'thought police' who will doggedly attempt to ram their view home to the point where everyone else has long past their boredom threshold and gone elsewhere.

I'd like to have a beer or two with him, to me, he's the sort of guy you can have a beer with, a dam good argument, more beer with, then stagger away from the pub feeling happy that you have had a very good constructive argument.
Although in my case, I usually wake up in the morning, realising that I've forgot to say a very good point.

The mix is what makes this place intersting and the only forum I frequent, the tolerance is what has made it tick over for the last few years.
Mark has given his reaction and reasons. That should be enough, if anyone is not happy with the rules, they have the right to cancel their account and not participate.

I see what you mean Don and it is just a matter of taste opinion. I dont get all irate and in a twiss over A & A I just ignore it. I do find it odd that it exists whilst STW are trying to clean up the family forum and ban swearing etc. Diversity is good but I just find that is an excuse to have a bit of a perv /leer over the female form. You either think that is ok or not basically. I dont have a massive problem with that either but there are other far more suitable places to do that IMHO than on here. There are very few female MTBers and very few women on here. I dont think this encourages them to join in any more than a thread with innuendo about Nigella Lawson breasts when she cooks etc

as for my vote... if it can be found with google safe search turned on then i dont see why it shouldn't be allowed on here, if people choose to respond in a sexual/non "safesearch" way then its them who need to be banned not the poster of the image.

Dunno I try not to get worked up by it, I bow to my more PC forumites to inform me whether it's sexist or not. The women who have voted don't seem to mind so maybe it's ok.....or maybe A&A/nigella threads have already alienated the ladies who do mind.

STW should also then photoshop burkas onto all female cyclists shown in the mag.
