This year I do have a plan of what to buy my wife for her birthday but I am always open to other or additional suggestions.

What sort of ideas for a couple of hundred quid?

Not cycling/ outdoors activities related please.

Does she like coffee? Maybe a barista course?
I recommend the Edgecumbe one, then you can tie it into a beach trip/picnic/pub lunch too.

based on your reputation/username surely a reserved parking spot at the local hospital 🙂

I've bought my wife a few of those 'experience day' things over the years. The two she enjoyed the most we chocolate making and forging. Although in the forging day she made quite a scary knife, so....

Definitely go for the experience option happy memories and all that.

If you've never done it go on a balloon flight, you are held a bit to the weather so if patience isn't wife's your thing maybe give it a miss.

We used an independent rather than the big red balloon company it was a very enjoyable couple of hours.

Is she a Star Wars fan? My bloke is getting an R2-D2 shaped pressure/slow cooker for his next birthday (yes I know, a gift for me too but it is the thought that counts...) I am really hoping it makes all the noises!

Things I've bought that have gone down well:

A weekend in a cottage by the sea (with me!!)
A camera
A flying lesson
Stuff with sentimental value i.e. wine from the area where we went on honeymoon.
An art print by one of her favourite artists (she chose which print)
A jigsaw made from a photo she took in a sentimental place we had been (she is a jigsaw fan in general)
Some trainers she had been admiring in a film

I sometimes do a selection of smaller presents, ie a cool jumper from her favourite shop, some earrings, a book, flowers, chocolate, nice wine etc. This is good because it takes the pressure off trying to find one good 'big' thing. And having lots of pressies to open is more fun anyway

For £200? You can't even get lunch for £200 there unless you stick to tapwater and skip the cheese course!
