Ive got a bunch of AA batteries that are all the same, id previously kept them in groups of 4 that i use them in but over time theyve become muddled up. Some are older than others. Whats the best method for testing and pulling out the duds as ive heard youre not meant to charge the duds with the good batteries. Help?

Get a charger which will charge them up separately and/or one which will do a refresh - I've found the latter will bring some duds back into use.

Something like this?

Charging batteries fast won't help their longevity.

Again for the BL-700.
I had loads of battery's and i found out most were useless after running them through the 700.

I know what you mean, but worded like that it's not a great advert! I've got one too. It refreshed a couple of AAs and proclaimed one dead.

Might be more cost-effective in the long run just to assume all the old ones are dead (they're almost certainly past their best) and buy a job lot of Eneloops. Having just done that here, I can't see myself having to replace expired batteries for quite some time.
