Just got my first contract as a freelance programmer (self-employed) and they have asked for my terms and conditions. Anyone got a general document they wouldn't mind emailing me, just to give me an idea of what they might expect? It is quite a tiny contract so I feel reluctant to pay a solicitor just in case I don't get much more work later. Also I know the company employing me very well so not worried about getting ripped off. Grateful for any help!
If you are planning on making a long term job out of this then for goodness sake pay a lawyer to produce a standard set that properly protect you and vitally get them signed by the customer before you start work.
Business Link used to have all this on the web.
There are loads of places online where you can download all manner of legal docs for a reasonable subscription fee.
Seriously doubt you need to spunk several hundred pounds on legal fees at this point.
