Can't comment on eateries as it's been a few years since I was in Tsilivi but the beach is good there.
Hire a car if you can and explore the interior of the island there's some lovely places all of which will try to sell you honey(to die for) or pottery , go see the monastery at Anafonitra(good food at the small cafe on the right as you come away, not the big one on the left where all the coaches go). Zante castle above the main town is worth a look round an has some great views , my favourite beach (ever so far) is Gerakas beach at the bottom of Zante but they chuck you off it around 6.30pm as its a major turtle nesting ground.
I'm really jealous Zante is my favourite Greek island but we won't be going back till minicarlos mk2 is a bit bigger 😥

is zante the place where the plane approach is at about 45 degrees onto a runway that end up on the beach... close your eyes and be prepared to applaud if they pull it off..

Get a map and head for porta limnionas, it's beautiful !
carlos, i dont think our budget will stretch to hiring a car, but ill take my licence in case. scared of getting stitched up with that sort of thing anyway, making you pay for damage already there etc etc.
