i own a cat and pretty much agree with this. i took pity on it after being forced to live outside for 5 weeks by building work. we returned. its rightful owners returned and it was being quite nice. Now its back to its whingy noisy irritating scratchy basterd ways.

My wife is allergic to cats, she builds up a tolerance and isn't cuddly with them and remembers to wash her hands if she has been.
Of course she suffers for a couple of days when she's been away for a week or so.

Sadly, you clearly don't understand allergies. Most people with cat allergies suffer from a gE/histamine mediated type 1 hypersensitivity reaction due to cat dander contacting the mucus membranes of the upper respiratory tract.
If you can find a way of controlling (and monitoring) how much dander one can absorb in a room full of cats, you're a far greater scientist than any I've ever come across!

Yes. Mrs_oab was mildly allergic. It was only when cat moved on to another house (long story) that we realised the daily grind of snot, glands and red eyes was due to the cat. I wouldn't go there again personally.
