Bought a Samsung LCD tv about a year ago, did no research, bought it on basis it was half price at Makro! All seemed fine until I recently got sky and I now get this horrible tracking shaddow thing, but only on certain programmes and usually only in darker scenes. Most of the stuff I watch is on sky+ and normal telly (like BBC through sky box in real time ) is ok - mainly films are the issue. Crap TV or something to do with watching stuff off the hard drive on sky box??
watch less telly. Ride more bikes.
check your connections.. I guess its an HDMI connect, but if its a scart it might not be seated properly.
Also worth putting your model number into AVForums search box and seeing if anyone has posted recommended settings.
Samsungs generally have fantastic PQ - but there are certain panel sizes that had outsourced screens that weren't so good. That aspect aside, the 'out of box' settings compared to a properly adjusted set are like night and day.
Thanks all - sounds like it's something to do with upscaling of older, none HD films. Have tweaked the setting though and loads better picture already :o)
