For example, I'm fairly workshy, I absolutely hate working and get very bored very quickly. However it so happens that I naturally have an aptitude for something that is in demand and not so many people are as good at it as I am. So I make a good living. Fair? No..and it has it's risks, like the time Boy George chained me to his wall... but fortunate, hell yes.

Not quite as bad as Greece but hardly a model to be followed, eh?

No of course not !!! ๐Ÿ˜€

New Labour followed the neo-liberal free-market model !

Although when the shit hit the fan they, temporarily at least, partially abandoned it.

But to suggest that the Tories could somehow offer a different, better, non neo-liberal free-market model, is quite frankly ridiculous.

well, as we are still living in a democracy we're all entitled to our opinions, though sometimes I wonder on this forum

Hora that article is diabolical. Talk about subtly manipulating the tone and theme of the article to make a political point. Shameless.

Greece built facilities AND THEN hit the skids in a recession. The two things may or may not be linked to some extent. Any new facility could have been the same. I know of office buildings in Cardiff that went empty for years after 2001.

It also says 'the only beneficiaries will be big business' at least twice. WTF does that mean? Only small companies should benefit? Who the hell works for these 'big businesses' anyway? Normal people, that's who.

Grr. Peddling ignorance. Stifling people's ability to think for themselves for your own political aims - should be bloody well illegal.

Check yourself into the Molgrips Retard Clinic (see earlier thread) asap. Well, as soon as it opens anyway.

Where's the problem then ?

Although when the shit hit the fan they, temporarily at least, partially abandoned it.

That's a bit generous ern! They shat themselves that some of the largest contributors to GDP dropped a large collective bollock and then threw money at them. During this, they (the banks) continued to take the p1ss (bonus', payoffs etc etc).
I would not class this as a return to socialism, more of an absolute necessity (IMHO of course). Any govt would have done the same. I say keep the shares and rinse the bastards!

But to suggest that the Tories could somehow offer a different, better, non neo-liberal free-market model, is quite frankly ridiculous.

My elementary economics training tells me that a free market is a free market, neo liberal or not. Is that incorrect? (honest question)

why have you assumed I'm BNP, if you must know I think they're an odious bunch who will just, hopefully, fade fom everyones sight after the election, but of course, if my views do not lean firmly to the left, I must be BNP..........in some peoples eyes

There's I live in the Home Counties and everything's lovely right wing; and then there's,

"Tron......they're from Chile, they came over here because they thought they could ge a better life by milking our benefits system."

I'd put you (and Griffin) in the latter category.

I don't think that any 'free' market is actually completely free, is it? We learned a bit about that in 1929 I think. Adjectives in addition to the word 'free' would attempt to describe the amount of regulation involved I think.

Not what? I'm not actually suggesting you're in the BNP, simply that they'd welcome you based on your posts.

a free market is a free market, neo liberal or not. Is that incorrect?

Neo liberal is generally used to refer to recent moves (last 30 years) towards an unregulated "laissez-faire" free-market economy. We had a more regulated free-market economy before that.

Not imo. But it supposedly is, in the opinion (or at least the alleged opinion) of those who sing it's virtues.

Unregulated as in privatisation of services?, the absolute opposite to the centrally controlled model?
I was shown that at one end of the scale was free market and at the other was centrally controlled and that no country on earth was purely either, but that some were closer to the free market (the US etc) and some closer to the centrally controlled (north korea etc).
So labour are actually trying to be less socialist (economically) than the tories?
I thought you liked socialism?

"So labour are actually trying to be less socialist (economically) than the tories?"

๐Ÿ˜•

"I thought you liked socialism?"

And ? ๐Ÿ˜•

Gotta log out, but if it helps, I reckon New Labour believed, well Gordon Brown did at least - Tony Blair doesn't believe in anything apart from pampering his own arse and ego, that they could manage the free-market better than the Tories. There's probably some truth in that, but since you've already accused me of 'liking socialism', I'm entirely sure why you appear to think I should be more supportive of them.

Right had another look.

Both her Mother and Grandmother work in the 'treasury'....(hmmm)

The last 20secs are very telling.

They are a Labour stunt. Look at the pledges of Labour (laptop for every family, child cover and a relook(?) at (living) minimum wage.

Yes, Super thin laptop with i7 Core. Yes!

Yes, the children must wear DKNY, Gucci etc., otherwise infringe on the human rights of the children by making them look poor.

Yes, minimum wage ... minimum work and maximum credit spending. Yes!

Has Juan been banned? No way?!? What for???

I do hope not. I don't think that would be fair really. Granted, he went off on one, but come on, it was brilliant!

I'm sure Hora's not too bothered by it. Water off a duck's back..

Thing is, if you make provocative statements, you're going to get a response. Hora knows this; it's why he does it, ffs! I mean, why do we post on here, if it's not to gain attention?

So, Hora; if the Tories win, how do you think they are goingto magically transform Britain?

Come on, let's hear your thoughts. A proper, intelligent, well-reasoned argument, if you're capable of it. Rather than just slagging off Labour all the time like you do. I've never read anything of yours on the subject where you've done owt but spout right-wing bollocks straight out of whatever rag you read, so let's see if you are actually capable of producing something intelligent. See if you're not just a loud and useless piece of fat after all... ๐Ÿ˜‰

as i see it... pretty much EVERYONE that is voting tory is doing so in a reactionary, 'Labour are shite thus we'll get them out' style. Quoting wars, economy etc.

has anyone stopped to think that they arer all roughly the ****ing same? conservatives wont be better. they will be the same. or worse.

all this 'time to get the idiots out' is bollocks. you will be voting more idiots in, have a flick through the who's who in each party. each party is peppered with idiots.

votiong gordon brown out because grredy banks in the state flattened the worlds economy is ****ing stupid. at least come up with one good reason to vote tory other than 'its better than what we've got now'

No, Hora. I want to see your ideas, not some reactionary right-wing bollocks.

Your ideas. About how the Tories are going to fix everything. Are you capable of coming up with any on your own?

Thought not. Must be all that spongy fat inside your brain... ๐Ÿ˜‰

so pretty much what i said then.

full on tory supporter as a result of not liking the current situation.

and what would the tories have done given the last 4 years/economic downturn/bank collapse/failure of greece etc. etc???

who cares right? because at the moment their campaign is 'we are just like you! we dont like europe! gordon brown is an idiot! the country has too much debt!'

great set of values.

Talkemada, dear fellow. You think 'as you were' is the way forward don't you? We approaching a trillion of national debt. Three times higher than Greece's national debt and you are saying 'keep the same party'.

I don't think it warrants me entering a further dialogue with you on the matter unless you are intending to vote for any party but Labour?

Whats Browns election slogan? We need to create jobs to keep the economy growing. No Gordon, not public-sector linked jobs you idiot.

hora if you are trying to compare us to greece you obviously dont understand much about finance

our economy is much stronger than theirs, finance, manufacturing, pharamaceutical we wee all over them

they also have the lowest tax revenue collection in europe
taxes are tiny compared to here and as nobody especially those who can afford accountanats or to bribe the taxman pay substantial amounts of tax

funnily enough its the tories who think they can resolve the debt crisis by just cutting services and not raising NI and letting the rich off inheritance tax etc

i wonder how that will turn out

In fairness, Hora doesn't really understand much about anything...

Still waiting for your thoughts on how the Tories are going to magically transform everything, Hora.

I suspect it will be a very, very long wait...
